Section 8.5.1. 34 Employees may be granted leave with pay chargeable to sick leave when absence is occasioned 35 by unforeseen personal emergencies not covered in other sections of the Article. In cases of 36 inclement weather, use of leave will be at the discretion of the superintendent. 37
Section 8.5.1. 12 In the event an employee is subpoenaed to appear as a witness in court in a case relating to the 13 employee's school district job, or is named as a co-defendant with the District, such employee shall 14 receive a normal day's pay for each day of required presence in court; provided, however, that any 15 compensation received, except expenses, for such service shall be paid to the District. Such 16 repayment shall not exceed the employee's normal daily pay less bona fide expenses.
Section 8.5.1. 42 Except in cases of unexpected emergency, events shall not be changed (including but not 43 limited to start and end times, driving route, pick-up and drop-off locations, etc.) without prior 44 notice of at least five (5) working days.
Section 8.5.1. 30 The returning employee will not necessarily be assigned to the identical position occupied 31 before the leave of absence. However, provided a vacancy exists for which the employee is 32 qualified, the employee shall be reinstated to a position equivalent in duties and salary to that 33 held at the time the request for leave of absence was approved.
Section 8.5.1. 15 In the event that an employee subject to this Agreement is summoned to serve as a juror or appear 16 as a codefendant with the District, the employee shall receive their normal day’s wages for each
Section 8.5.1. 22 Ten (10) workdays annually as per the following formula: 9/12 (or 75%) x 10 days, times 23 average hours worked per day in the previous year. Ten (10) month employees will be prorated 24 at 10/12 (or 83%). Eleven (11) days worked in any one calendar month shall count for a month 25 in vacation credit. 26
Section 8.5.1. 23 All employees working less than full year shall receive vacation pay rather than vacation time in 24 accordance with Section 8.1 and Section 8.3. Such employees shall receive payment for accrued 25 vacation credit with their June paycheck. New employees working less than sixty (60) days in a 26 school year will not receive vacation pay.

Section 8.5.1. 47 All paid leave shall count towards hours worked. (Only applicable to Section 8.5) If paid leave 48 is used concurrently with PFML it will be considered a supplemental benefit.
