SENIOR WORK. If an employee is temporarily appointed to a senior position, the employee will be notified in writing and will be paid at the higher rate of pay for the duration of the appointments.

SENIOR WORK. 13.1. Any member acting in a senior rank must be qualified for promotion to that rank in accordance with Article 11.3. 13.2. All senior rank vacancies within the Patrol Section shall be immediately filled by the next lower senior rank. No member shall advance more than one rank to fill a senior rank vacancy. If a Staff Sergeant vacancy occurs and a Sergeant is available, that Sergeant shall relieve the Staff Sergeant position. The appointed Constable shall relieve the Sergeant’s position. 13.3. If a vacancy occurs in a supervisory Staff Sergeant or Sergeant’s position for more than three (3) working days in any section other than Patrol, it shall be filled. 13.3.1. Notwithstanding the above, if a vacancy occurs in the Sergeant’s position in the Organized Crime Section or Priority Street Crimes Unit for a complete shift, an Acting Sergeant shall be appointed so long as the Acting Sergeant is supervising two (2) or more other members. If the Major Crimes Section Staff Sergeant is unavailable for a complete shift, an Acting Staff Sergeant shall be appointed. 13.4. Members acting in a senior established rank on a trial basis or for relief purposes shall be appointed to the appropriate temporary acting rank while they are so employed, provided that a member may not hold a temporary acting position continuously at the same rank for a period in excess of six (6) months.
SENIOR WORK. 10.1. Where an employee is appointed to an acting capacity to temporarily perform the duties of a position having a higher classification, such person shall receive the minimum basic rate of pay established for the acting position where his present basic rate of pay is less than the minimum for that position; or he shall receive a basic rate of pay at the next increment higher than the minimum but less than the maximum for the acting position, that will provide a basic rate of pay at least five percent (5%) higher than the employee's present basic rate of pay. 10.2. In the event a Xxxxxxx is absent from his duties, a temporary Xxxxxxx shall be assigned. A temporary Xxxxxxx shall only be appointed if he is supervising one (1) or more employees. If the temporary assignment is for four (4) hours or more, the temporary xxxxxxx shall receive the applicable basic rate of pay from the immediate time of appointment.
SENIOR WORK. 13.01 When a member of the Association is acting in a higher position in the department, he shall receive pay for the next higher rank or pay level to his position while acting in such senior capacity. In no case will a member be paid more than one (1) rank or pay level above his established position.
SENIOR WORK. When the Employer determines senior work is required, the employee temporarily assigned to the senior work will be remunerated as follows (in all cases the senior work rate shall not exceed the rate of the senior position): A. A trade employee assigned as a Xxxxxxx will be paid at 110% of the employee’s current salary. B. If two or more trade employees are working together, and no one of them is a permanent xxxxxxx, and they are not part of a larger crew working on the same project overseen by a permanent xxxxxxx, then one shall be appointed to be in charge and shall be paid at 107.5% of the employee’s current rate. C. A trade employee assigned as in charge of the service truck shall be paid at 107.5% of the employee’s current salary. D. An employee assigned to a senior non-union position shall be paid at 110% of the employee’s current salary. E. A non-trade employee assigned to a senior position shall be paid at 105% of the employee’s current salary. A Journeyman awarded a permanent Xxxxxxx position shall start at Step 1 and move to Step 2 after working a total of 2080 hours as a Xxxxxxx including previously assigned Xxxxxxx work.
SENIOR WORK. 14.1 When a member is placed in a senior position in the Service he/she shall receive the senior rate of pay while holding that position. Any overtime worked by such member in such senior position shall be compensated for at the overtime rate based on the rate of pay of the senior position. 14.2 For the purpose of salary only, it shall be considered that the person in charge of a shift is classified as a Sergeant if he/she does not hold such rank or better, and he/she shall be paid accordingly. 14.3 A uniform method of recording senior work shall be kept by the Chief of Police. 14.4 Payment for senior work shall be made in the period in which it occurs.

  • Summer Work a. This section shall apply only to those employees hired to fill temporary summer positions. b. The District will provide the Association with a list of expected summer work job openings prior to the last day of school. Summer positions shall be included on the District’s website. c. The District shall not fill summer positions with outside employees until bargaining unit members have had at least three (3) working days to submit applications.

  • UNIT WORK When the Employer deems it necessary in order to carry out a mission and operations of the campus, the Employer may contract out work provided that the contracting out does not displace bargaining unit employees or reduces their scheduled hours. The Maine Community College shall notify MSEA-SEIU when contracting out is to be implemented. MSEA-SEIU may request to meet and confer on the impact on contracting out such work. The Maine Community College shall meet with MSEA-SEIU within thirty (30) days of such request. Notice to MSEA-SEIU shall be not later than one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the commencement of the contracting out. In emergency circumstances, when the College enters into a contract under which contracting out will commence in less than thirty (30) days, when possible, notification shall be made two (2) weeks prior to implementing the contract, but in no event later than ten (10) working days after the commencement of the contracting out. Prior to the meeting and conferring on contracting out, the Maine Community College System will provide MSEA-SEIU all relevant written information, including copies of bids received, any cost analysis used by the College to evaluate the need for contracting out, and all other relevant material used by the College in making its decision regarding contracting out. Contracting out of the type of work normally performed by existing bargaining unit members for limited periods not to exceed six (6) months shall be allowed without the Union’s agreement if one or more of the following conditions are present at the affected campus or other non-campus location (such as the System Office in Augusta): 1. The skills and abilities or legally required licenses or equipment needed to perform the work are not available within the bargaining unit. 2. The opportunity to do the work is declined by any qualified and available bargaining unit employees. “Qualified” as used in this Article is defined as having special skills, abilities, license or equipment necessary to perform the work.

  • Project Schedule Construction must begin within 30 days of the date set forth in Appendix A, Page 2, for the start of construction, or this Agreement may become null and void, at the sole discretion of the Director. However, the Recipient may apply to the Director in writing for an extension of the date to initiate construction. The Recipient shall specify the reasons for the delay in the start of construction and provide the Director with a new start of construction date. The Director will review such requests for extensions and may extend the start date, providing that the Project can be completed within a reasonable time frame.

  • Project Scope The physical scope of the Project shall be limited to only those capital improvements as described in Appendix A of this Agreement. In the event that circumstances require a change in such physical scope, the change must be approved by the District Committee, recorded in the District Committee's official meeting minutes, and provided to the OPWC Director for the execution of an amendment to this Agreement.

  • Shift Work (1) Except as varied by this Clause, all other aspects of Section 4 of the Agreement shall apply to the working of shift work. (2) The Company has the right to direct Employees to work shift work as required and the Employees shall work the shift work as directed. Shift work will be worked and paid for in accordance with this subclause. (3) Shift work is deemed to be any arrangement of Project Working Hours where the majority of the Ordinary Hours are worked outside of the spread of Ordinary Hours defined at clause 21 – Hours of Work of this Agreement and when Employees are working as such. (4) Ordinary Hours for shift Employees will comprise thirty-six (36) hours per week averaged over a defined work cycle and will not commence before 5.00pm on Sunday night. Such Ordinary Hours are the specified hours under each shift Employee's terms of employment by reference to which annual leave and personal/carer's leave accrue. (5) Prior to the commencement of shift work, the Company shall seek the agreement of the Employees involved. Failing agreement, the Company will provide to the Employees concerned one (1) weeks notice of the commencement of shift work and the starting and finishing times of Ordinary Hours of the shifts. (6) Where less than five (5) consecutive shifts are worked then Employees shall be paid at overtime rates in lieu of the shift loading prescribed at subclause (7) of this clause. The consecutive nature of shifts will not be deemed to be broken if work is not carried out on a Saturday, Sunday, RDO or on any public holiday. (7) A shift Employee shall receive a flat loading of twenty-five (25) percent of their Ordinary Hourly Rate for each hour worked. (8) Employees working night shift shall be entitled to stop work for a half-hour without deduction of pay for the purpose of taking a meal break. (9) The Company may stagger the times for Employees to take meal breaks to meet operational requirements. (10) The Company shall structure the Project Working Hours for Employees working night shift to include one (1) half-hour rest break to be taken without deduction of pay by Employees working the Project Working Hours on any night shift.
