Special Parental Leave and Sick Leave. (a) Where the pregnancy of an officer or an officer’s spouse not then on parental leave terminates after twenty-eight weeks other than by the birth of a living child then -
Special Parental Leave and Sick Leave. Where the pregnancy of a teacher or a teacher’s spouse not then on parental leave terminates after twenty-eight weeks other than by the birth of a living child then: • the teacher shall be entitled to such period of unpaid leave (to be known as special parental leave) as a duly qualified medical practitioner certifies as necessary before the teacher’s return to work; or • for illness other than the normal consequences of confinement the teacher shall be entitled, either instead of or in addition to special parental leave, to such paid sick leave as to which the teacher is then entitled and which a duly qualified medical practitioner certifies as necessary before the teacher returns to work. • Where a teacher not then on parental leave suffers illness related to the teacher’s pregnancy, the teacher may take such paid sick leave as to which the teacher is then entitled and such further unpaid leave (to be known as special parental leave) as a duly qualified medical practitioner certifies as necessary before the teacher returns to work. • A teacher returning to work after the completion of a period of leave taken pursuant to this subclause shall be entitled to the position which the teacher held immediately before proceeding on such leave or, in the case of a teacher who was transferred to a safe job pursuant to subclause (4) of this clause, to the position the teacher held immediately before such transfer. • Where such position no longer exists but there are other positions available, for which the teacher is qualified and the duties of which the teacher is capable of performing, the teacher shall be entitled to a position as nearly comparable in status and salary or wage to that of the teacher’s former position.

Special Parental Leave and Sick Leave. Where the pregnancy of a staff member or a staff member’s spouse not then on parental leave terminates after twenty-eight weeks other than by the birth of a living child then: the staff member shall be entitled to such period of unpaid leave (to be known as special parental leave) as a duly qualified medical practitioner certifies as necessary before the staff member’s return to work; or for illness other than the normal consequences of confinement the staff member shall be entitled, either instead of or in addition to special parental leave, to such paid sick leave as to which the staff member is then entitled and which a duly qualified medical practitioner certifies as necessary before the staff member returns to work. Where a staff member not then on parental leave suffers illness related to the staff member’s pregnancy, the staff member may take such paid sick leave as to which the staff member is then entitled and such further unpaid leave (to be known as special parental leave) as a duly qualified medical practitioner certifies as necessary before the staff member returns to work. For the purposes of subclauses (8), (9) and (10) of this clause, parental leave shall include special parental leave.

  • Unpaid Parental Leave (a) An employee is entitled to a period of up to 52 weeks unpaid parental leave in respect of the:

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Maternity/Parental Leave The term of the temporary posting shall be for the term of the illness or maternity/parental leave but shall not exceed eighteen (18) continuous months.

  • Maternity Leave and Parental Leave (a) An employee is entitled to maternity leave of up to seventeen (17) weeks without pay. The duration of the maternity leave of absence before the date of birth and subsequent to the date of birth shall be at the option of the employee.

  • Paid Parental Leave 44.2 In addition, if the Employee is entitled to paid parental leave under the Paid Parental Leave Act 2010 (Cth) (PPL Act) as the primary carer of the child:

  • Parental Leave (a) An employee who becomes a parent, and who has been employed for at least thirteen (13) weeks immediately preceding the date of the birth of child or the date the child first came into care or custody of the employee, shall be entitled to parental leave.

  • Maternity Leave/Parental Leave Adoption Leave (Effective for maternity and/or parental leaves that commenced before May 1, 2019)

  • Extended Parental Leave 22.1 The Board shall grant an extension to the parental leave as provided in Article 21 in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in this Article.

  • Parental Leave Allowance (a) An employee who qualifies for parental leave pursuant to Clause 21.2, shall be paid a parental leave allowance in accordance with the Supplemental Employment Benefit (SEB) Plan. In order to receive this allowance, the employee must provide to the Employer proof of application and eligibility to receive employment insurance benefits pursuant to the Employment Insurance Act. An employee disentitled or disqualified from receiving employment insurance benefits is not eligible for parental leave allowance.
