Stand-By Provisions. (a) Stand-By is defined as an assignment by the Employer requiring a Nurse to be readily available for work when required. The Bargaining Unit Grievance and Labour Management Committee (with consultation from the Nurses affected) will meet and agree to procedure(s) for assigning Stand-By in an equitable manner, subject to Article 7.25 below.
Stand-By Provisions. (a) Where regular employees are required to stand by to be called for duty under conditions which restrict their normal off-duty activities, they shall be compensated at straight time in the proportion of one hour's pay for each three hours standing by. An employee designated for stand-by shall be immediately available for duty during the period of stand-by at a known telephone number. No stand-by payment shall be made if an employee is unable to be contacted or to report for duty when required. The provisions of this clause do not apply to part-time employees who are not assigned a regular work schedule and who are normally required to work whenever called.

Stand-By Provisions. 13.01 There will be two duty systems. One for the water treatment plant and one for other Town needs. The water treatment duty system shall be independent of the other system and will be staffed by qualified water treatment plant operators and by the Water Treatment plant managerial staff. The duty will be shared equally. The town duty system shall be staffed by bargaining unit Employees and 3 - managerial staff who are deemed competent. Competency to be determined by the Director of Operations and/or the Town Water/Sewer Xxxxxxx. The duty will be shared equally. The schedule for the Duty Phone shall be devetoped between the Union and the Employer and may be amended from time to time at the request of either party. Upon completing their shift the Duty Phone person should complete the appropriate time sheet and submit it for compensation on the next biweekly payroll run. The above Duty Phone Compensation rates shall increase by the negotiated cost of living on January 1st of each year starting in 2011.
