The individual may be required to perform functions related to their original skill as required by the Company, but never to the extent that their apprenticeship training requirements would be jeopardized as a result. b) This is not considered equivalent to a dual trade. Employees would be compensated at the appropriate Journeyman rate.

Water Treatment Plant Operators. The standard work day for Water Treatment Plant Operators in Unit G will consist of one thirteen hour and twenty minute (13.33) shift. The standard workweek for Water Treatment Plant Operators will consist of three consecutive shifts in a week measured from Sunday to Saturday. If no Water Treatment Plant Operator in Unit G is available to cover an overtime shift, the City may arrange for alternative coverage from outside the Unit.

(2) At times, Water Treatment Plant Operators designated as Assistant or Relief Operators will be expected to work other shifts as needed instead of, or in addition, to their regular shifts, provided they receive four (4) weeks notice and do not already have approved vacation for the shifts asked. Shifts in addition to their regular shifts will be paid or banked at the applicable overtime rates. It is understood between the parties that the four (4) week notification does not apply when Water Treatment Plant Operators are needed and requested to backfill for staff absent due to illness, bereavement or other unplanned situation. In these situations, Operators will be paid or banked at the applicable overtime rates. (3) Water Treatment Plant Operators working 0600 hours to 1800 hours on a Paid Holiday or the 1800 hours to 0600 hours shift leading into the Paid Holiday will be paid one and a half (1.5x) times the hours worked plus they will bank twelve (12) hours in their Stat Bank account. All others will bank a twelve (12) hour stat day. (4) Vacations taken within a specific week will be paid based on employee’s regularly scheduled hours of work. (5) All full day absences due to sickness, bereavement, statutory or bonus days or vacation days taken will be based on the employee's normally scheduled hours of work on the day(s) in question. (6) Water Treatment Plant Operators unable to report for their regular shift due to sickness or other emergencies shall give the OIC on duty a minimum of four
Water Treatment Plant Operators. WTP Operators and Maintenance Operators are to be the Overall Responsible Operator (ORO) for operators on the previous or following shift who are licensed at less than one 12 level lower than the WTP. Compensation for this will be at rate of $40.00 per 12-hour shift, $20.00 for 6-hour shift, $13.50 for 4-hour shift. A pager will be provided.   • Dewatering (a) Where the whole of a site is so affected by surface water following a period of rain that all productive work is suspended by agreement of the Parties, then dewatering shall proceed as above with Employees so engaged being paid at penalty rates as is the case for safety rectification work. This work is typically performed by Employees engaged within CW1, CW2 or CW3 classifications. When other Employees are undertaking productive work in an area or areas not so affected then dewatering will only attract single time rates. (b) Where a part of a site is affected by surface water following a period of rain, thus rendering some areas unsafe for productive work, consistent with the Employer’s obligations under the OH&S Act, appropriate Employees shall assist in the tidying up of their own work site or area if it is so affected. Where required, appropriate Employees will be provided with the appropriate PPE. Such work to be paid at single time rates. Productive work will continue in areas not so affected. (c) To avoid any confusion any ‘dewatering’ time which prevents an Employee from being engaged in their normal productive work is not included in any calculation for the purposes of determining whether an Employee is entitled to go home due to wet weather (refer clauses 32.4 and 32.5)
