Step One - Informal Grievance. 1. The employee shall inform their supervisor of their grievance within ten (10) days after the employee knew, or in the exercise of reasonable diligence should have known, of the events giving rise to the grievance. Failure to complete this procedure will bar further consideration of the grievance.

Step One - Informal Grievance. The parties may resolve workplace grievances through informal means. The employee may present the basis for the dispute to the Union representative who shall advise the employee of the employee’s rights and assist the employee and the Superintendent of Highways to reach an amicable solution. The presentation may be either oral or written, however, at the request of either party the grievance shall be reduced to writing. If the matter is not grieved, it shall be deemed acceptable, and all parties shall waive the right to grieve the matter.

  • Informal Grievance The aggrieved employee or group of employees or a representative of the Union shall orally present the grievance to the employee's Supervisor or his/her designated representative within five (5) standard working days following the occurrence of events on which the grievance is based. The Supervisor shall give his/her answer within five (5) standard working days of the date of presentation of the grievance. Grievance settlements at the informal level shall set no precedents in any future MOU interpretation.

  • Group Grievance Where a number of employees have identical grievances and each employee would be entitled to grieve separately they may present a group grievance in writing signed by each employee who is grieving to the Administrator or her designate within ten (10) days after the circumstances giving rise to the grievance have occurred or ought reasonably to have come to the attention of the employee(s).
