The STUDENT GOVERNMENT clause defines the establishment, structure, and authority of a student-led governing body within an educational institution. STUDENT GOVERNMENT. One level 7schedule F for the school year will be provided for supervising the STUGO program. With major duties including: preparation and performance of the major Administration on other campus projects and student motivation/involvement events. YEARBOOK ADVISOR- for the School Year: One level 8 Schedule F will be provided for supervising the Yearbook. To be eligible for the level 8 Schedule F for the school year, the yearbook advisor will select and train a staff, choose and work with a publisher for the book, manage the finances under District guidelines in cooperation with the campus bookstore manager, work with the staff to prepare for publication of a book relating to school activities, and supervise distribution when the published book arrives. NEWSPAPER ADVISOR- for the School Year: One level 4 Schedule F will be provided for supervising the Newspaper. To be eligible for the level 4 Schedule F for a school year, the newspaper advisor will select and train a staff, choose a method of publication, under District guidelines, develop a system of budgeting and financing, and prepare for publication of a minimum of ONE (1) newspaper per term pertaining to student activities, events, and interests. YEARBOOK/NEWSPAPER COMBINED- for the School Year: One level 1.2 Schedule F will be provided, refer to the previous requirements for both Yearbook and Newspaper Advisor. ACADEMIC DECATHLON:One level 6 Schedule F for each team up to nineteen (19) students participating in at least two (2) sanctioned competitions and devoting 300 or more hours to practices/preparation during the school year. A second Schedule F will be provided when the team size reaches twenty (20) or more students participating. If a team does not qualify for the State competition, the Sponsor can elect to end their Schedule F pay, or continue to practice as outlined above for the remainder of the season and collect the full Schedule F payment. DECA SBE OPERATORS- for the School Year: One level 10 Schedule F will be paid for the operation of the DECA School Based Enterprise for the school year. JROTC - for the School Year: One level 10 Schedule F will be paid for the operation of the JROTC Program for each required sponsor for the school year. STUDENT GOVERNMENT. ACTION TO BE TAKEN IN ORDER TO MEET BENCHMARKS AND GOALS:
a. Student government will participate in and contribute to the partnershipactivities as appropriate.
b. Representatives of the Student Government will participate in monthly meetings with Leadership of the Academy.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT. Membership on the Student Council gives students the opportunity to develop leadership skills, put into practice the principles of democracy, and develop an attitude of service to their school. Students who wish to serve in student government must know and comply with the regulations of the St. ▇▇▇▇▇▇ Student Council. Student Council members are expected to fulfill their obligations. If they do not, they will be removed from Student Council and a new officer will be appointed by the principal and Student Council moderator. The removal of a Student Council member is at the sole discretion of the principal in consultation with the moderator. Student Council nominations and elections are held each year in late May or early June. Students in grades 5-7 wishing to run for any office must hold a “C” or better grade point average in academic subjects, conduct, and effort. They must also receive permission to run from their parents and prepare a speech to be presented to the faculty and administration for consideration. Students wishing to run for Student Council must receive approval from the faculty and administration of St. ▇▇▇▇▇▇ School. Students wishing to run are expected to represent the best of our school and to have demonstrated this inner capacity. The faculty and administration designate President and Vice-President officers. All other officers will be determined by the Student Council
STUDENT GOVERNMENT. The purpose of the Student Council is to provide first-hand experience for students in the methods and procedures of a democratic government. In addition, the student council sponsors special activities in the areas of academics, fundraising, and volunteering to help the underprivileged. Student Council elections are held at the beginning of the school year. Two representatives from grades 5-8 are elected from each homeroom to serve on the student council. All members of the student body are encouraged to participate in the activities of student government. Elected Student Council members are members of the District Student Council Cabinet.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT. ITU believes in the work-life balance and strives to create an environment that encourages social interactions outside of the classroom. The Student Government Association (SGA) exists to serve, advocate for, and lead the student body with dedication to unity, teamwork, diversity, honesty, transparency, mutual respect, and creativity. SGA commits to being a voice for all students as well as a committed group of leaders among the ITU community. SGA membership consists of four elected executive positions as well as a group of representative members. Each member is committed to serving students through hands-on assistance, and collaboration with ITU leadership. Experience as an SGA leader not only helps ITU become a better place, but is also an enriching part of your academic life. As a member of the SGA you will gain valuable leadership and communication skills. These transferable skills can be used at companies the world over, with many former SGA members going on to successful careers in industry.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT. The purpose of the Student Government is to represent the interests and concerns of the student body of the University of New Mexico - Los Alamos, to seek student input on issues. Additionally, the Student Government will assume the responsibilities of participatory governance on behalf of students in mutual relationship with the faculty, staff, administration, and the Advisory Board of the University of New Mexico - Los Alamos. By completing these tasks, the Student Government will be fulfilling its mission to represent the concerns and serve the needs of the student body of the University of New Mexico - Los Alamos.
