Summer Period. (Article 21) Specialist Advanced Generalist
Summer Period. (May 1st to September 30th inclusive) (a) Employees making their first Summer Period selection shall, at their option, receive two (2) weeks in one continuous period. (b) Employees entitled to five (5) weeks or more of annual vacation may, at their option, select three (3) weeks in one continuous period on their first selection in the Summer Period. (c) In the event the vacation selection process results in single weeks left open on the vacation schedule, an employee may select one of the single weeks on their first choice. This selection of one (1) week shall constitute that employee’s first choice, with any further vacation entitlement being selected from the available time in later rounds of selections. (d) Each employee’s second (2nd) and subsequent Summer Period selections, if any, shall be for one (1) week periods only.
Summer Period. For each month in the Summer Period, the ------------- Availability Adjustment shall equal the sum of (a) the Availability Adjustment for the Super Peak Hours plus (b) the greater of zero and the Availability Adjustment for the Partial Peak Hours where: (i) the Availability Adjustment for Super Peak Hours is the product of (a) the sum of the monthly Capacity Charges (before application of the Availability Adjustment) for the applicable Contract Year and (b) the applicable Monthly Adjustment Factor and (c) 75% and (d) the Guaranteed Summer Super Peak Availability less the actual Equivalent Availability for Super Peak Hours during such month; and (ii) the Availability Adjustment for Partial Peak Hours is the product of (a) the sum of the monthly Capacity Charges (before application of the Availability Adjustment) for the applicable Contract Year and (b) the applicable Monthly Adjustment Factor and (c) 25% and (d) the Guaranteed Summer Partial Peak Availability less the actual Equivalent Availability for Partial Peak Hours during such month. (iii) for purposes of the calculations in subsections (i) and (ii) above and Section 7.1.

Summer Period. For the summer period Management shall determine the number of positions needed in each classification and the duration of the work assignments, and shall coordinate any necessary bid. The work available shall be offered based on seniority irrespective of employment status. Employees will bid by seniority for their days off and hours of work. Management will determine job assignments and locations, providing as much advance notice as possible. Prior to the bid, any changes in summer schedules will be announced. As summer business dictates, positions will be offered to laid-off employees on a seniority basis by classification for those areas needing additional employees.
