Surplus Employee a permanent full-time or part-time Employee who has exercised his/her rights as per Article 14 and has been unable to secure permanent employment with the Employer. Note: A surplus Employee shall be paid as defined in Article 23. The provisions of the Collective Agreement applicable to a surplus Employee are as defined in Article 14.06.

Surplus Employee. An employee who remains in the work force but is removed from his/her job classification due to a work reduction and applies his/her seniority to another job classification. Suspend Temporary termination of an employee’s work as a disciplin- ary measure.
Surplus Employee. Refers to an employee who, because of a reduction in the number of employees in a job classification, will by application of the provisions of this Article either be moved to another technical grade or previously held job classification in the Departmental Seniority Unit in accordance with surplus provisions of this agreement, or laid off.

  • Previous Employment PROVIDER acknowledges and understands that Section 2252.901, Texas Government Code, prohibits A&M System from using state appropriated funds to enter into any employment contract, consulting contract, or professional services contract with any individual who has been previously employed, as an employee, by the agency within the past twelve (12) months. If PROVIDER is an individual, by signing this Agreement, PROVIDER certifies that Section 2252.901, Texas Government Code, does not prohibit the use of state appropriated funds for satisfying the payment obligations herein.
