Timing of annual leave. A Teacher must take annual leave during Non-term weeks. Leave must generally be taken, in the four-week period immediately following the final Term week of the current School year, unless otherwise agreed with the Employer.
Timing of annual leave. (a) An Employee must take annual leave during a shut down period. A shut down is defined as a period where the Employer shuts down the business, or any part of the business, in which the Employee works.
(b) Where an Employee has not accrued sufficient annual leave to be taken during the shut down period, the Employee is entitled to leave which will be unpaid.
(c) An Employee who works Term weeks only must take annual leave during Non- term weeks. Leave must generally be taken, in the case of an Employee whose employment is continuing into the next school year, in the five (5) week period immediately following the final term week of the current school year, unless otherwise agreed with the Employer.

Leave must generally be taken, in the case of an Employee whose employment with the employer is continuing into the next school or preschool year, in the four-week period immediately following the final term week of the current school or preschool year, unless otherwise agreed with the Employer.
Timing of annual leave. The Employer may require an Employee engaged with an entitlement to five weeks’ annual leave to take annual leave during non-term weeks. An Employee with an entitlement to more than five weeks annual leave, or to leave without pay under cl.33 are required to take annual leave during non-term weeks.

(b) The Employer may require a General Staff Employee to take their annual leave during Non-Term Weeks.
(c) The Employer may designate some or part of the Non-Term Weeks as a shutdown period in which the operations of the School may be closed or operate at minimum staffing levels. Unless alternative arrangements are agreed between the School and a particular Employee/s or as covered by this Agreement pursuant to clause 48, General Staff are required to take annual leave during shutdown periods observed by the School.
Timing of annual leave. 2.1 In the case of Academic Staff, annual leave should be: “…taken by agreement with the Head of Department/Director of School and should normally be arranged out of teaching time.”
2.2 In the case of General Staff:
2.3 It is expected that the timing of annual leave be a matter that is determined between the Academic Head/Manager and the staff member under the above principles.
2.4 In the case of General Staff, the University should attempt to reach agreement over the timing of annual leave, though where it is convenient to the University, leave may be required to be taken - normally in reasonable periods rather than odd days.
Timing of annual leave. 40.1 The Centre sets a Christmas/New Year close-down period of the Centre on an annual basis. Annual leave is required to be taken by staff over the nominated period. The maximum amount of leave required to be taken by staff during this period shall be three weeks.
40.2 Approval of requests for annual leave taken at other times of the year is at the Centre’s discretion.
Timing of annual leave. An Employee will be allowed to take annual leave in whole or in part, at a time convenient to the Employee, consistent with the operational requirements of the Employer.
Timing of annual leave. General Staff Employee
(a) The Employer may require a General Staff Employee to take annual leave during Non-term weeks.
Timing of annual leave. The annual leave period shall be from 1st April to 31st March. Annual leave will be taken by mutual agreement between employees and those delegated by Assistant Directors to authorise leave, except in services where there is already an agreement that holidays are taken during particular periods. All employees should be given the facility to take annual leave during the summer period. An Assistant Director and their deputy should not be on annual leave at the same time. In the case of an Assistant Director who has no formal deputy, at least two of the next tier officers should be at work when the Assistant Director is on annual leave.
