PLANT COMMITTEE. 12.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Plant Chairperson and Vice Chairperson and a Plant Committee of five (5) stewards, one from each crew and one (1) from the skilled trades; selected from the regular employees of the Company engaged in jobs covered by the bargaining unit. The Committee will represent all employees covered by this Agreement in matters pertaining to grievances, or alleged grievances concerning the application of the terms and provisions of this Agreement. The name and area of each of the stewards and the name of the Plant Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, from time to time selected, shall be given to the Company in writing and posted and maintained by the Union on the notice board as provided in Art. 11.
01. The Union xxxxxxx and Safety xxxxxxx shall not be transferred from his/her crew to another crew whilst work is available in the xxxxxxx’x classification on the xxxxxxx’x crew.
12.02 The Company undertakes to instruct all members of its supervisory staff to cooperate with the stewards in the carrying out of the terms and requirements of this Agreement.
12.03 The Union undertakes to secure from its officers, stewards and members, their cooperation with the Company and with all persons representing the Company in a supervisory capacity, in the carrying out of the terms and requirements of this Agreement.
12.04 The xxxxxxx may request relief from assigned duties to investigate a grievance arising from this Agreement without deduction in pay. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. This right is granted on the following conditions:
a) The time shall be devoted to the prompt handling of the grievance
b) The time away from productive work shall be reported in accordance with the time keeping methods of the department in which the xxxxxxx is employed.
c) The Company reserves the right to limit such time if it deems the time so taken to be excessive.
12.05 The Nurse’s office, or another suitable location within the plant will be provided to the Union Chairperson when he has business to discuss with a xxxxxxx on another crew. Similarly, such suitable location will be made available for other private Union conversations. In either case permission will not be unreasonably withheld.
PLANT COMMITTEE. 19.01 Plant Committee of five (5) members, includes the President and the Vice President and three (3) shop stewards, of B.C.T.G.M. Local 388 G will be appointed by the Union to meet and bargain with the Company on matters properly arising from time to time in administration of this Agreement.
19.02 Members of the Committee shall be selected in accordance with the constitution of the Union.
19.03 It is clearly understood the Committee members will not absent themselves from their regular duties unreasonably in order to deal with the grievances of employees, or with other Union business; in accordance with this understanding the Company will compensate such employees for the time spent in negotiating with the Company; handling grievances of employees, and attending the meetings of the plant committee, at their regular rate of pay. This does not apply on time spent on such matters outside of regular working hours. Aforementioned meetings will be held during regular working hours Monday through Friday.
19.04 The Union agrees to supply the Company with the names of the employees constituting the plant committee and will keep a list up to date at all times.
19.05 A copy of all notices posted on the bulletin board concerning the employees will be placed in the Union Letter Box.
19.06 Elected Officers of the Union who may be called upon to transact business for the Union which requires their absence from duty with the Company shall, upon application and twenty-four (24) hours’ notice to the proper representative of the Company, be allowed to absent themselves for sufficient time to transact such business with no pay.
19.07 In the future any matters agreed upon between the Company and the Union shall be reduced to writing, signed by both parties, and become a part of this Agreement and attached hereto.
19.08 Plant Committee members required to be absent from their regular duties for the purpose of investigating and processing grievances and complaints shall notify their Team Leader, who shall arrange relief, if necessary. It is understood that only under emergency conditions shall a Team Leader refuse to grant permission to a Plant Committee member to leave his/her job for necessary Plant Committee member’s duties. It is agreed that Plant Committee members shall only absent themselves from their duties for the length of time necessary to investigate or adjust a complaint or grievance and shall report immediately upon their return to their job.
PLANT COMMITTEE. 5.01 a) The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a Plant Committee otherwise known as the Union Grievance Committee, which shall be composed of not more than four (4)
PLANT COMMITTEE. 11.01 A meeting of the Union committee and representatives of the management may be called by notice given in writing by either party forty-eight (48) hours prior to time of meeting. The party calling the meeting must advise in writing, included with notice calling the meeting, what matters are to be discussed. Anything further than business for which the meeting is called by be handled only by mutual consent.
PLANT COMMITTEE. The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to ap- point or otherwise select up to four (4) stewards and one (1) plant chairperson who shall at least have one years seniority with the Company during their time in office. The name of the stewards from time to time selected shall be given to the Company in writing and the Company shall not be required to recognize any such stewards until it has so been notified.
PLANT COMMITTEE. (a) The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a plant committee, otherwise known as the Local Union Executive, which shall be composed of not more than six employees. Each member of this committee, and all stewards, shall have reached the age of majority, shall have at least three months' seniority with the Company, and shall be regular employees of the Company during their time of office.
(b) Upon notification by the Union, the Company agrees to recognize 11 stewards, the number and jurisdictional areas to be as follows:
6.02 The jurisdiction of each of the stewards and the name of each xxxxxxx, and the chairperson of the plant committee from time to time selected, shall be given to the Company in writing and the Company shall not be required to recognize any such xxxxxxx until it has been notified in writing by the Union of the name and jurisdiction of same.
6.03 The Company undertakes to instruct all members of its supervisory staff to co-operate with the stewards in carrying out of the terms and requirements of this Agreement.
6.04 The Union undertakes to secure from its officers, stewards and members, their co-operation with the Company and with all persons representing the Company in any supervisory capacity.
6.05 If a meeting is called by mutual agreement between the Company and any recognized committee of the Union, the members of the committee attending the meeting will be paid at their regular hourly rates for the duration of the meeting if the meeting is held during their regular working hours. It is understood that members of such committee will only be paid for such hours that they would have normally worked if the meeting had not been held. Employees called in or held over to replace Union members attending a meeting will be paid at prevailing overtime rates.
PLANT COMMITTEE. 4.01 The Company acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a plant committee which shall be composed of not more two (2) stewards on all shifts of Plant 1 and Plant 2 and one (1)
PLANT COMMITTEE. 21.1 The Company shall recognize the Union Plant Committee consisting of five (5) employees, one of whom shall be Chairperson and one of whom shall be from the Skilled Trades group. During a two shift operation, alternate Committeepersons can be appointed and will be recognized by the Company provided a list naming the alternates is given to the Company prior to being effective. It is understood that no more than five
PLANT COMMITTEE. 8:01 For the purpose of adjusting grievances, the Company shall recognize a Plant Committee not to exceed two (2) members. The Committee members will meet with the Plant Manager, or his representative, as hereinafter provided, with no loss of pay when such meetings occur during working hours. If a committeeman is at work immediately prior to said meeting, he will be allowed fifteen (15) minutes before the start of the meeting to clean up and prepare, with no loss in pay.
8:02 The Union agrees to furnish to the Company, in writing, the names of the Plant Committee members and stewards and of any changes in such personnel who are authorized to carry out the provisions of this Article, in order that the Company recognize such Committee and stewards.
8:03 The parties will schedule joint meetings of the Plant Committee and the Plant Manager or his representative prior to the second Tuesday of each month or more often as may be mutually agreed upon by the parties.
PLANT COMMITTEE. The Company will recognize the following representatives of the Union, provided they are and continue to be seniority and working employees of the Company, for the purpose of assisting in resolving disputes between the Company and the employees in accordance with the Dispute Resolution Procedure set forth in later sections. The Plant Committee shall consist of up to five (5) working members elected by the membership in any manner they so desire. One shall be designated the full time Chairperson, whose position will be fulltime to deal with union responsibilities such as WSIB, and other benefit and work related issues who shall work on the 1st shift, three designated as shift Committeepersons, one of which shall work on 1st shift, one of which shall work on 2nd shift, one of which shall work on 3rd shift and one designated as Skilled Trades Committeeperson. The Company will also recognize three (3) alternate representatives (one per shift), who shall act in their absence. The Plant Chairperson and the four Committee people will have super seniority as long as they hold their Union positions for the purposes of lay off and recall only. This also includes classification seniority. In the absence of the Chairperson, the Chairperson shall designate one of the Committeepersons to act on his/her behalf. In cases of overtime or absences when ordinarily none of the above representatives would be scheduled to work, the union may designate a representative from one of those working. Additional representatives due to growth will be resolved by mutual agreement. The Company will pay the applicable rate of pay to the Plant Committee for meetings held internally, with the Company. The Company agrees that it shall continue its current practice of time off the job with no loss of pay for the plant committee attending Step 3 & 4 meetings as set out in Article 11 dispute resolution procedure. The Union will pay the wages for any members involved in the mediation or the arbitration process.
