Transfer to a Recognized Apprenticeship Program. From time to time an employee may enter a certified and/or recognized Company apprenticeship program. In such cases, the employee’s competencies will be assessed against those established for the new trade and a determination will be made of the appropriate rate of pay. A joint union-management committee will do the assessment. Where the employee is currently being paid more than the appropriate rate of pay, his or her rate of pay will be frozen until such time as a further assessment of his or her training and experience warrants a move to the next highest progression step in the range.

ACTING PAY When an employee is temporarily assigned to a classification in the Collective Agreement that is a position with a higher maximum pay level than the employee’s permanent position, the employee shall be paid the highest wage rate applicable to the position that the employee is assigned to. Such acting pay rate shall be no greater than of the employee’s regular pay rate. Employees temporarily assigned to another classification shall be entitled to all applicable wage progression increases that would occur if the employee remained in the employee’s permanent position. Employees temporarily assigned to a Management position shall be paid above their base rate of pay or the minimum rate of the assigned position, whichever is greater. Responsibility Pay (Former Lead Hand Pay) When or more employees work together on a job or project as a team or crew, without supervision for periods of hours or greater, and when an employee is required by management to exercise responsibility over and/or leadership of such employees, management will assign a responsible employee. An employee temporarily assigned responsibility for a crew or team shall be entitled to a responsibility pay premium of of their normal pay rate for all hours worked. This rate shall be paid in addition to the employee’s regular pay and be paid in addition to shift differential and overtime rates where applicable.   • Apprenticeship Program 62. The parties agree to meet to discuss the development of mutually agreeable apprenticeship programs. The specific provisions of the apprenticeship programs shall be subject to agreement between the City, the Civil Service Commission (where appropriate), and the Union. Each apprenticeship program, however, shall contain at least the following terms:

  • Apprenticeship Supervision All apprentices shall be supervised by an appropriately qualified tradesperson. The parties shall implement the ESV’s “Supervision guidelines for apprentices working on electrical installations”. These guidelines were developed by the Industry parties under the auspices of the Office of the Chief Electrical Inspector.

  • APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE The central parties agree that within sixty (60) days of the commencement of this agreement, a joint local committee consisting of up to three representatives each will be formed to discuss the feasibility of establishing an apprenticeship program(s). If such a program is deemed feasible, the local parties will determine the terms and conditions of such program(s). The joint local committee will seek the availability of any federal or provincial funds to cover the costs of such programs.

  • Apprenticeship 7.01 At such time, the parties agree to a training program, it is agreed to contact the California Nevada JATC to establish such program.

  • Apprenticeships 20.1 The parties are committed to providing increased employment opportunities for apprentices and trainees through an effective manufacturing industry policy and an increase in apprenticeship places in the TAFE system.

  • Apprenticeship Training The enterprise agrees to work with the union to improve apprenticeship training and the number of apprentices in training.

  • JOINT APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE There is hereby established a Joint Apprenticeship Committee as defined in paragraph (c) hereof. This Committee shall be composed of four (4) members, two (2) representing the Company and two (2) Journeymen/women employees representing the Union. The Chairperson shall be the Supervisor of Apprentices. The Committee shall meet once a month unless otherwise agreed. It shall be the duty of the Committee:

  • Personnel Selection Leave 35.6.1 Where an employee participates in a personnel selection process for a position in the Public Service, as defined in the Financial Administration Act, the Council shall grant leave of absence with pay for the period during which the employee's presence is required for purposes of the selection process, and for such further period as the Council considers reasonable for the employee to travel to and from the place where his presence is so required.
