Tuition Refund Plan. The City agrees to provide tuition reimbursement in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000) annually. Administrative Regulation 70.30 governs the administration of this program.
Tuition Refund Plan. Those employees that meet the eligibility requirements as set forth in Hospital’s Tuition Assistance Program shall be eligible for tuition reimbursement for courses meeting the applicable criteria set forth in the Tuition Assistance Program. To receive reimbursement, employees must follow the procedural steps outlined in the Tuition Assistance Program. The maximum reimbursement shall be $3700 per calendar year. The Hospital agrees to reimburse employees who have been employed at University Hospital for more than one (1) year tuition/registration fees associated with maintaining “certifications” required by the Hospital or the State of New Jersey for the position in which they are currently employed by the Hospital. The reimbursement shall not include the cost for books or certification renewal fee. Such reimbursement shall be charged to the employee’s tuition reimbursement allowance. Within ninety (90) days of completion of the seminar, the signed certificate/proof of attendance shall be submitted to Human Resources and reimbursement will be paid within six (6) weeks of submission.

When an employee enrolls and attends approved courses on employee's own time, the City may reimburse the employee for required school fees, such as tuition, books and registration fees. Mileage and optional fees shall not be refundable. Fire Chief verification of available budgeted funds and approval shall be obtained by the employee before registering for any course in order to be eligible for refund of required fees.
