Union Leave (Extended. An employee who is elected as a member of the Board of O.P.S.E.U. or selected for a full-time position with the Union shall be granted leave of absence without loss of seniority and without pay for a period of up to two (2) years.

Union Leave (Extended. (i) An Employee who is acting as a full-time officer or representative of the Union or who is hired, elected or appointed to a position representing the Union, on a full-time basis, that is beyond the scope of the Employer’s operations, shall, in each case, be granted an unpaid leave of absence to perform his or her duties, with the time involved considered as service, for seniority purposes only, with the Employer. Only one (1) bargaining unit employee shall have the right to such unpaid leave of absence at any one (1) time. The Union specifically agrees that no such person shall at any time be given, assigned, or have any direct involvement, in any way, with the Employer’s operations.   • Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Extended Leave of Absence Professional employees who have attained renewable contract status may request extended leaves of absence for one (1) year without pay under any one of the circumstances listed in this section. All requests for such extended leave of absence will be applied for and granted or rejected in writing. Such application will be reviewed by the principal and superintendent. If the latter approves, he/she will recommend that the leave be granted by the Board. An employee returning from an extended leave will be assigned to the same position as that which he/she held before assuming the leave, providing that position still exists. By mutual agreement between the employer and the employees, he/she may be given a different assignment. Extended leaves of absence may be requested under, but not limited to, the following:

Faculty members shall be returned to the unit in accordance with Article 29, Section B, Subd. 1, and shall be returned to the salary schedule at the step at which they were placed when they left the unit, with accommodation for general increases in the indicated step. If the faculty member’s service to the university in the year the faculty member left the unit qualified for an increase in the succeeding year, then the faculty member shall be entitled to that increase upon return to the unit. Seniority shall not accrue during the years faculty members are on extended leave.

  • Maternity Leave/Parental Leave Adoption Leave (Effective for maternity and/or parental leaves that commenced before May 1, 2019)
