UNIT AND RECOGNITION. This agreement shall apply to the employees of the City employed as firefighters (hereinafter referred to as “Employee(s)”). The Employer hereby recognizes the Association as the exclusive bargaining representative of all Employees for the purpose of collective negotiations with the City in the determination of the terms and conditions of employment and in respect to the administration of grievances arising under this collective bargaining agreement.

UNIT AND RECOGNITION. The Employer recognizes the Union as a multi-employer certification and the sole bargaining authority for all employees in its offices within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union, Local and within the classification of office and clerical workers listed in Appendix "A" or within such new classifications as may from time to time be agreed and established by the Parties. It is expressly agreed that this Agreement shall not apply to any elected or appointed officer, business agent or representative of the Employer. The Union recognizes the Building Trades Employers Bargaining Council as the Employer and will direct all correspondence and grievances to the Council at the address and to the attention of the individual as may, time-to-time, be provided by the Employer. All members shall be required to use their Union Label. The Union Label shall be made available to the Employer. The privilege of using the Union Label shall be extended to the Employer as long as this Agreement remains in full force and Master Construction Trade Union Office Agreement May 1,2006- April Page of effect and the Employer is fulfilling all of its terms and conditions. The Union Label shall be the official Union Label of the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Union with the designation of Local and shall remain the sole property of the Union. The employees shall not be asked to make any written statement or verbal contract which may conflict with this Agreement. It shall not be a violation of this Agreement or cause for discharge of any employee, in the performance of her duties, to refuse to cross a legal picket line. The Union shall notify the Employer as soon as possible of the existence of such recognized picket lines. The Employer shall not discharge, discipline or otherwise discriminate against any member of the Union for participation in or for action on behalf of the Union, or for the exercise of rights provided by this Agreement. During the life Agreement, there shall be no lockout by the Employer or any strike, sit- down, slow-down, work stoppage or suspension of work either complete or partial for any reason by the Union.

  • RECOGNITION 1. For the purposes of the fulfillment, in whole or in part, of its standards or criteria for the authorization, licensing or certification of services suppliers, and subject to the requirements of paragraph 3, a Party may recognize the education or experience obtained, requirements met, or licences or certifications granted in the other Party or a non-Party. Such recognition, which may be achieved through harmonization or otherwise, may be based upon an agreement or arrangement with the other Party or a non-Party concerned or may be accorded autonomously. 2. A Party that is a party to an agreement or arrangement of the type referred to in paragraph 1, whether existing or future, shall afford adequate opportunity for the other Party, if the other Party is interested, to negotiate its accession to such an agreement or arrangement or to negotiate comparable ones with it. Where a Party accords recognition autonomously, it shall afford adequate opportunity for the other Party to demonstrate that education, experience, licences or certifications obtained or requirements met in that other Party's territory should be recognized. 3. A Party shall not accord recognition in a manner which would constitute a means of discrimination between countries in the application of its standards or criteria for the authorization, licensing or certification of services suppliers, or a disguised restriction on trade in services. 4. Each Party should encourage the relevant bodies in its respective territory to conduct future negotiations for developing mutually acceptable standards and criteria for licensing, temporary licensing and certification of professional services suppliers.

  • RECOGNITION OF THE UNION 1. The BCPSEA recognizes the BCTF as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for the negotiation and administration of all terms and conditions of employment of all employees within the bargaining unit for which the BCTF is established as the bargaining agent pursuant to PELRA and subject to the provisions of this Collective Agreement.
