Unscheduled Holidays. Every day declared by the President or Governor of this State as a day on which the schools must close so as to have a day of public fast, mourning, thanksgiving, or holiday, or any day declared a holiday by the Governing Board shall be a paid holiday for all employees in the bargaining unit.
Unscheduled Holidays. In the case of conflict, seniority will be the deciding factor.
Unscheduled Holidays. Xxxxxxx's Birthday, Fair Day and CSEA Recognition Day: 10.3.1 The contractual holidays of Xxxxxxx's Birthday and the Fair Day shall be taken as floating holidays. Employees may take these two (2) days in conjunction with any other day off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays. In order to take floating holiday time off, the employee shall make the request of his/her supervisor forty-eight (48) hours prior to taking the time off. If more than one employee in an office or other department requests the floating holiday time off on the same day(s), then the day(s) shall be granted by seniority. If there is no negative impact to the school or department, the supervisor may grant the floating holiday time off for more than one employee, by seniority. Floating holiday time off may be granted with a less than twenty-four (24) hour notice at the discretion of the supervisor. If requests for floating holiday time off are denied twice, then the third request shall be automatically granted. Employees shall not be required to state any other reason for requesting this time off other than "Floating Holiday".
Unscheduled Holidays. Members of the Fire Department from Firefighter through the rank of Fire Battalion Chief shall work unscheduled holidays (i.e., special holidays declared by the President or Governor) at their regular hourly rate of pay. If employees have that day off, they will not receive extra compensation for the unscheduled holiday.
Unscheduled Holidays. Sick leave when used before forty (40) hours in pay status are accumulated or if prescheduled at least sixteen (16) hours in advance. (Patient Care, see Appendix W)

  • Scheduled Holidays Holidays for certain employees, typically 24/7 facilities, are pre-scheduled on days other than the holidays mentioned in Section 1. This schedule is determined in advance. If employees who have their holiday pre-scheduled are required to work on that pre-scheduled holiday day, they are compensated as follows: a.) Cash overtime employees are paid for the number of holiday hours pre-scheduled plus payment at the rate of time and one-half for the number of hours actually worked. b.) Compensatory leave eligible employees are paid for the number of hours prescheduled plus credited with holiday compensatory time for the number of hours actually worked, which must be used within one (1) year after having accrued this time. This provision does not apply to an employee who is on leave without pay during the same pay period as the assigned holiday.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above described holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus twice their base rate for all hours worked on such holidays.

  • Unscheduled Overtime I. a payment of forty dollars ($40.00) as a meal allowance. II. a payment of thirty (30) minutes at straight time rates in lieu of the meal break: and III. a fifteen (15) minute rest break at the applicable rate of pay

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate. 9.3.2. A full-time employee who works other than a Monday through Friday schedule and who is not scheduled to work on a calendar holiday shall be given at the discretion of the Employer (1) another scheduled workday off with pay, or (2) an additional day's pay at his/her regular rate if funds are available.

  • Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave During the Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation, paid holidays and sick leave in accordance with the Company's standard policies for its senior executive officers.

  • PAID HOLIDAYS (a) A full-time employee who otherwise qualifies hereunder shall receive the following paid holidays:

  • Scheduled Overtime Scheduled overtime is overtime which is assigned by the end of the employee's last worked shift prior to the overtime assignment and which does not immediately precede or immediately follow a scheduled work shift. Unless notified otherwise in advance of the scheduled starting time of the scheduled overtime assignment, any employee who is scheduled to report for work and who reports as scheduled shall be assigned at least two (2) hours work. If work is not available, the employee may be excused from duty and paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate. If the employee begins work but is excused from duty before completing two (2) hours of work, the employee shall be paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate.

  • PLANT HOLIDAYS 12.01 The Company will recognize the following plant holidays: New Year’s Day Labour Day Xxxxx Xxxx Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Victoria Day Remembrance Day Canada Day Christmas Day Civic Holiday Boxing Day National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and any additional holidays as may be declared by the Provincial or Federal Governments. If by reason of an election, the Company is prevented from making deliveries to any area, the Company shall, wherever possible, reschedule work in the week so as to avoid layoffs. If any of the holidays should fall on a Saturday or Sunday, which is an employee’s non-working day, then the Company will designate the work day on which it will be observed. It is understood that either the preceding normal working day or the following normal working day shall be the designated holiday. In order to achieve operational flexibility, the Company may schedule a portion of the workforce to observe the holiday on the Friday and another portion of the workforce to observe the holiday on the Monday. 12.02 Employees will receive eight (8) hours straight time pay for each of such holidays without being required to work on such days provided that: (a) the employee has not been absent without permission on the last work day scheduled for them immediately prior to the day on which the said holiday is observed, or the first work day scheduled for them immediately after the day on which the said holiday is observed. (b) In cases where an employee has been on Weekly Indemnity or Workers Compensation and is cleared by their physician to return to work prior to or on the holiday, they will be eligible for pay for that holiday. (c) If any of the plant holidays above occur during an employee’s absence for which they are on Short Term Disability they shall receive the difference between regular pay and the amount they have received from Short Term Disability for such days during such absence up to fifty-two (52) weeks. 12.03 Any employee who is required to work on any of the aforementioned plant holidays shall be paid at the rate of time and one half in addition to their regular day’s pay of eight (8) hours. Employees will be paid at the rate of double time for all hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours on a plant holiday. Hours worked on an observed or designated Holiday will be paid at time and one half.

  • Vacation, Sick Leave and Holidays Executive shall be entitled to four (4) weeks (28 business days) of vacation, and also sick leave and holidays at full pay in accordance with the Company’s policies established and in effect from time to time.
