Vacation Alternatives. This letter is to establish a vacation banking system that allows employees who have in excess of three (3) weeks, or in the case of a twelve hour shift worker, one hundred and twenty (120 hours) vacation entitlement in any year, two alternatives in lieu of taking the excess vacation time. Employees will be able to choose one of the two options outlined below on an annual basis. 1) Banked Vacations Banked Vacations shall only be taken immediately prior to an employee’s retirement. An employee wishing to bank vacation weeks, or in the case of a twelve hour shift worker, hours, will complete a Vacation Alternative Request form, indicating the number of weeks (or hours) he wishes to have banked and submit this request to his Supervisor for processing. The Supervisor will review and forward to the Department Manager for approval. Such request will be answered within fourteen

Vacation Alternatives. The vacation alternatives that may be considered include a proposal to consolidate traffic on the southern alignment creating more usable open space with southern exposure adjacent to the northern edge. In this alternative, the two potential development sites, 32W and 33W are extended south into the existing public right-of-way slightly. The public open space is expanded north of the right-of-way on to University property at the NW corner of Campus Parkway and Brooklyn in order to preserve an existing tree and integrate it into public open space. This concept is shown In Figures VI-4 and VI-6. A second vacation alternative that may be considered includes consolidating the traffic on the southern alignment and creating more usable open space similar to the variation described above. With this approach only one potential development site, 32W, would be extended south into the right-of-way, to terminate the public open space on the west where the tree is to be preserved, and screen that space from vehicular circulation connecting to 00xx Xxxxxx XX. This concept is shown in Figures VI-7 through VI-9. In both variations of the ‘Vacation’ Alternative Xxxxxxx Hall Plaza would be extended (Figure VI-5). The University will also study a “No Vacation” alternative. This alternative would leave Campus Parkway in City ownership, and identify ways in which the City, the University and greater community could improve the open space function of the existing right of way. This concept is shown in Figures VI-10 and 11. Another “No Vacation” alternative would include University development on the potential development sites, without improvements to the existing open space. This concept is shown in Figures VI-12 and 13.

All requests for banking or surrender of vacation must be submitted to the employee’s Super- visor before April of the year the vacation is due.

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

  • Sick Leave Donation Program A Labor Management Committee will be established for the purpose of proposing rules and procedures for a new, program. The LMC will be to develop consistent, transparent and equitable proposals for processes across all departments within the City. The LMC shall also explore proposals to lower the minimum leave bank required to donate sick leave and permit donation of sick leave upon separation from the City. The LMC must consult with the Office of Civil Rights to ensure compliance with the City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. Once the LMC has developed its list of proposals, the City and Coalition of City Unions agrees to reopen each contract on this subject.

  • Vacation Allowance Employees in permanent positions are entitled to vacation with pay. Accrual is based upon straight time hours of working time per calendar month of service and begins on the date of appointment to a permanent position. Increased accruals begin on the first of the month following the month in which the employee qualifies. Accrual for portions of a month shall be in minimum amounts of one (1) hour calculated on the same basis as for partial month compensation pursuant to Section 5.6 of this MOU. Vacation credits may be taken in one (1) minute increments but may not be taken during the first six (6) months of employment (not necessarily synonymous with probationary status) except where sick leave has been exhausted; and none shall be allowed in excess of actual accrual at the time vacation is taken.

  • Vacation Bidding 1. Vacations will be bid by shifts in a Bid Area, except that in any Bid Area having less than 50 employees, vacations shall be bid by Bid Area. When mutually agreed between the Company and the local Union Business Agent/Chief Stewards/Coordinator vacations may be bid by groupings other than those listed herein. Provided that the Company will not unreasonably withhold agreement to such grouping as the local Business Agent advocates. It shall not be unreasonable for the Company to withhold agreement if the proposed grouping can reasonably be expected to materially affect the operation or any portion thereof. 2. In each vacation bidding group, the Department Head or Designee, will determine the total number of vacation weeks to be taken including regular earned vacation and deferred Holidays. For determining weeks to be bid, two (2) or less days will not be considered as a week. 3. If the total number of weeks to be taken is fifty (50) weeks or less, only one (1) person will be awarded a vacation in any given week (considered as a column). 4. If the total number is greater than fifty (50) weeks, a full column will be available for bidding each fifty (50) weeks, and if necessary, a partial column will be available for any remaining weeks in the last column. This method is used to avoid scheduling more people than necessary to be on vacation in any specific week. 5. Once a year, generally in early November, employees will bid for available vacation in the succeeding year based on adjusted Company Service Date. The Company will post notice of where and when employees will bid their initial and subsequent rounds of vacation. Employees will at that specific time, have three (3) ways to notify management of their bid preferences. They may show up in person, or telephone in their preference, or submit a written pre-bid to the designated management representative prior to any particular vacation bid round. Written confirmation will be provided to employees submitting written pre-bids. Once the entire vacation biding process is completed the vacation listings will be posted no later than December 15th. 6. Employees may bid one (1) continuous vacation period, which may include all or any portion of the vacation to which he is entitled. However if the employee is eligible for less than ten (10) working days the employee may not split the available vacation. Once an employee is eligible for ten (10) working days or more, the employee may split the employee’s vacation into separate periods of complete weeks and if a partial week remains, it will be taken in conjunction with one (1) of the employee’s complete weeks. 7. Once each employee has had the opportunity to bid, additional rounds of bidding will be permitted following the same procedure used on the initial round. 8. If an employee does not bid at all, during any given round, the employee will not be given the opportunity to bid until the next round. However if an employee misses his bid time but calls or shows up to bid before that particular round is complete, he will be allowed to bid at that time from the remaining available weeks. 9.   • VACATIONS Twelve-month ESPs shall be eligible for paid vacation days according to the following schedule: Upon completion of one year of service 5 days Upon completion of two to nine years of service 10 days Upon completion of ten or more years of service 15 days Upon completion of twenty years of service 20 days Vacation days may be accumulated and carried over from year to year. No more than the most recent year’s days earned may be carried over from one year to the next. Upon resignation, retirement, termination, or dismissal, unused accumulated vacation days shall be compensated to the employee not earlier than thirty (30) days nor later than sixty (60) days following severance of relationship with the school district. 1. For each employee employed on June 30th, vacation time earned shall be credited on July 1st. Retiring twelve (12) month employees with retirement date of June 30, will be credited with their final years vacation time. Upon cessation of employment, an employee is entitled only to those days earned as of July 1st preceding such cessation of employment. There will be no proration when they leave if it is before June 30. 2. Newly employed twelve (12) month ESPs hired after July 1st of any year will receive pro-rated credit of .4167 vacation days per month. Employees hired on or before the 15th of any month will receive vacation allotment for the entire month, and those hired after the 15th of any month will not receive any allotment for that month. Vacation time will not be earned and available for use until the following July 1st. 3. All Vacation days accrued will be rounded up to the nearest whole day. 4. Vacation time will be credited to twelve (12) month ESPs at the end of the day on June 30th following the completion of service through June 30th for that year. Credit for vacation will be granted for actual time worked. No current 12 month ESPs already accrued vacation days will be modified as a function of this agreement. Twelve-month District Office Administrative Assistants and twelve-month Principal’s Secretaries will only work during scheduled holiday vacations and days in which school is closed as needed for emergencies and other pressing matters. Vacation requests will be given at least two weeks in advance, except in the case of emergency.

  • VACATION PLAN 2 All employees in the bargaining unit shall earn paid vacation time 3 under this Article. Days for which such award payment is received shall be deducted from the accumulated leave balance. 5. Payment shall be equal to the number of eligible days times the affected employees daily rate of base pay times eighty percent (80%).
