Lines of Progression. (a) There will be two (2) types of Job Postings within a Lines of Progression. i) Entry Level Job Postings  ii) Departmental Job Postings ▲ (b) To be eligible to post on Departmental job postings or to advance through the lines of progression, the employee must be in the new department for a minimum of six (6) calendar months. (c) The Company will not be required to post positions above jobs marked with a square in the Lines of Progression charts with the exception of those defined by a triangle provided: 1) there is an eligible qualified employee within that Line of Progression; 2) failing the above, there is a qualified employees within that line of progression. Where an eligible qualified employee or a qualified employee in that line of progression is awarded the job, the Company will post the name and seniority date of the employee who is awarded the job. If there are no eligible qualified employees or qualified employees within that Line of Progression the Company will post the job in accordance with Article 6.06. (a) Permanent vacancies in a Line of Progression above the job defined with a triangle in mine operations and above those jobs defined by a square in all other departments shall be filled by the eligible qualified employee with the greatest Company seniority within the department in the job classification immediately below the vacant job. Failing this the job shall be filled by the qualified employee with the greatest Company seniority within the department in the job classification immediately below the vacant job. (b) Temporary vacancies in excess of one (1) shift shall be filled by the senior qualified employee on that shift in that Line of Progression. (c) Temporary vacancies or assignments of one (1) shift or less may be filled by any qualified person. (a) Employees, except those in Trainee positions have the right to freeze themselves in the Line of Progression. Employees who exercise the right to freeze will sign a waiver form supplied by the Company and submit it to their supervisor. (b) Employees who elect to freeze must remain frozen at least until the next employee in the Line of Progression has completed his training in the position that the frozen employee would normally have been trained on. (a) In the event an employee in a Trainee Position who has not completed all the prescribed training hours elects not to advance in a Line of Progression, or is unsuccessful in completing the training, he will be removed from further train...

Lines of Progression. (a) The lines of progression shall be set forth in this Agreement, subject to any subsequent changes agreed upon between the Company and the Union. Such changes to be in writing and signed by both parties. Any new job established in the line of progression shall become part of the line of progression.
Lines of Progression. Call In (Less than 12 hours notice) a) Employee(s) on the incoming shift where the vacancy is to exist will be promoted where practical within the line of progression to fill such vacancy. The vacancy resulting after this promotion will be filled by the Spareman on the incoming shift, provided that the Spareman has been trained in the job. Should he not be trained, the Company shall fill the vacancy using the overtime equitability list. b) Where the vacancy set out in a) above cannot be filled by promotion, the vacancy will be filled by the Spareman on the incoming shift, provided that the Spareman has been trained in the job. Should he not be trained, the Company shall fill the vacancy using the overtime equitability list. c) The replacement employee(s) will be paid the rate of the job which he fills, or his own rate, whichever is the higher. d) Where an employee is absent and, as a result, the vacancy cannot be filled through this procedure, the employee in the job where the replacement cannot be made immediately, will stay on the job, until a suitable replacement can be found, for a period not to exceed one (1) hour, subject to the maximums referred to in 25.02 b) 8).
Lines of Progression a) In each department concerned, the Company shall post lines of progression. b) The Company shall advise the Union and take into consideration any objections the Union might express before any change is made in a line of progression. The Company also agrees to advise the Union and discuss any objections before any employees are transferred or reclassified as a result of a change in a line of progression. The Union will be notified at least twenty (20) working days before the change occurs. c) Changes in a line of progression shall not be made in an unjust or discriminatory manner. d) Further to Clause 6.01(b) and (c) above an employee transferred or reclassified as a result of the Company changing a line of progression shall have the right to process a grievance concerning the justness and fairness of his transfer or reclassification. Such grievance shall be entered in writing at Step 2 of the Grievance Procedure. Should a satisfactory settlement not be reached such grievance may then become the subject of an arbitration case. e) Employees may be transferred out of a line of progression if they are unwilling to accept a promotion within that line. This provision shall only be used if the number of employees involved is such that it interferes with training employees for further progression to jobs required for the work available. Subject to the above conditions an employee may remain at his present classification on the understanding that he will be by-passed by a junior employee in the line of progression.
Lines of Progression. The lines of progression annexed hereto will only be changed after prior negotiation between the Company and the Union Committee. This does not mean that all positions within the Lines of Progression must be maintained.

However exceptions may be given under special circumstances. In order to avoid such transfer an employee may however withdraw any letter declining promotion within their line of progression.
Lines of Progression. A line of progression consists of a series of job levels, beginning with a Trainee classification and ending with the appropriate top of the line classification. New employees or present employees who have been selected with the required qualifications, enter a progression line to fill job vacancies, either at the Trainee classification or at the level within the line for which they qualify. Each employee in a non-complement progression line receives training applicable to his job, to enable him to progress to the top rate within his / her line, on the basis of demonstrated ability to meet the job standards. In addition, in the case of employees who enter a line of progression as a result of retrogression from another line, progress will be based on previous experience and demonstrated ability to meet the job standards. The lines of progression are shown on the attached chart. A number of job classifications on the plant site do not have accompanying progressions. They vary from those that do not require a skill to those into which people bring their skills. These classifications are listed on the attached chart.

Lines of Progression. In negotiations, the Company and the Union discussed the Company’s approach to a Line of Progression model in the operations. The Company’s goal in having a line of progression model is to have as many highly trained, highly skilled employees as it needs to operate the mine in a productive and cost-effective manner. To achieve that goal, it is the Company’s intent to train as many employees as time and training resources allow. Upon request, an employee will be provided with a copy of his training record, including any successfully completed written examinations. Lines of Progression. A line of progression is defined as a group of job classifications that relate to the operation of a machine, press, group of presses, or corrugator. Vacancies in a line of progression will be filled on the basis of seniority for the purpose of moving up, down or lateral. There will be no downward postings within a line of progression unless for medical or compassionate reasons. Should a person post down within a line of progression for medical reasons they shall have a period of one (1) year to reclaim their original position. Should an employee post out of a line of progression the employee will only be permitted to re-enter a line in a vacant entry-level position. Should there be no applicants within the Operator, 2nd Person or 3rd Person positions, the job will be awarded to the applicant according to 24.01.
Lines of Progression. The Company and the Union agree that the following will be the lines of progression for training in the departments: Mill Operator 1 Control Room Flotation Mill Operator 2 Grinding Moly Flotation Mill Operator 3 SXEW Primary Crusher Operator Filter Mill Operator 4 Mill Utility Operator Trained in 3 of the 4 Mill Op 5 Mill Operator 5 Tailings Sample Bucker Service Operator Crusher Helper Mill Operator 6 Mill Labourer Mine Operator 1 Shovel Operator Mine Operator 2 Driller Production Loader Blaster Mine Operator 3 Equipment Operator Mine Operator 4 Truck Driver Pit Dewaterer Blaster Helper I Pit Utility (Temp) Mine Operator 5 Truck Driver Trainee Blaster Helper II Mine Operator 6 Mine Labourer Within the Mill, once a labourer has been fully trained on one of the Mill Operator 5 circuits, he will be paid the Operator 5 rate. In order to be eligible to train on an Operator 3 position, the applicant must be a qualified Operator 4. An employee who has been promoted out of the Mill line of progression will have the option to take training opportunities missed in a lower position without loss of pay. After ratification, any employee bidding to be trained on a Mill Operator 1 position will have to be qualified on SXEW, or he/she will be trained to be familiar with the operations of the SXEW circuit (at least 50% of the training hours). This SXEW qualification requirement may be temporarily suspended at the discretion of the Company. Within the Mine Department, blasting will be its own line of progression. An applicant can only train one operational classification beyond his/ her current classification, with the exception of truck drivers bidding on driller training positions. In the event that no applicant from the classification below the training posting applies or is qualified, other bids will be accepted.
