Vacation Provision. The Vacation Request Calendar will be posted in each department by not later than March of each year. Employees will submit requests for vacation for the period of May to April of each year by not later than hours on the last weekday of March each year. All vacation approvals will be posted by April of each year. Unresolved conflicts between employees in the same department requesting the same times will be decided on the basis of seniority. Vacation requests made after the last weekday of March will be granted on a first come first served basis. Unless otherwise requested by the employee, the weekend off either preceding or following the requested vacation period will be granted. The employer will endeavour to schedule both weekends off provided coverage at rates is available. An employee who leaves the employ of the Hospital for any reason shall be entitled to receive any vacation pay which has accrued to him or her but not yet been taken to the date of his or her separation, it being understood and agreed that the employee will provide at least two (2) weeks notice of termination. The terms of the Employment Standards Act for vacation pay will be applicable if an employee resigns with less than two weeks notice to the Hospital. For part time employees, vacation pay at the appropriate rate shall be included on the pay. For the site, vacation pay will be paid out on the pay period in July until conversion by the Health System to a common payroll system.

  • Vacation Relief Where vacation relief is required, the Employer shall give regular employees the opportunity to substitute in higher paying positions and arrange for staff replacement at the lowest paying category.

  • VACATION AND VACATION PAY 9.01 All employees who are covered under this Agreement shall receive as vacation pay ten percent (10%) of the employee's total earnings exclusive of each Employer's contribution to the Union's Benefit Plan. Income tax shall be deducted weekly from the employee's earnings increased by the amount of vacation pay. 9.02 Vacation periods shall be arranged by mutual agreement between each Employer and each employee. Employees shall be granted their vacation periods as requested insofar as it is practicable and in accordance with years of employment, unless an Employer decides to grant all vacations at one time, in which case that Employer shall give the employees at least six (6) weeks advance notice. 9.03 Each Employer agrees to remit the Vacation Pay of each employee as agreed upon in Article 9.01 of this Agreement and in accordance with the regulation set by the Employment Standards Branch, Ministry of Labour, monthly before, but not later than the fifteenth of the following month to the Union using a separate cheque marked "Vacation Pay", accompanied by a list on which all deductions and contributions as mentioned in Articles 6.01, 12.02, 17.01, 18.01 and Schedule "A" are recorded. 9.04 In accordance with the agreement with the Employment Standards Branch, Ministry of Labour, the Board of Trustees of the Union's Vacation Pay Trust Fund, is obligated to take any steps which may be available to them either in law or in equity or in bankruptcy as may be necessary or desirable to effect collection from delinquent Employers. All costs incurred in the collection of said payment will be charged to such defaulting Employer. 9.05 Each Employer agrees to give the auditor of the Union's Trust Fund the privilege to examine that Employer's records concerning hours and monies forwarded to the Union, if and when the auditor so desires. Any date for such an examination will be pre-arranged in writing between the auditor, that Employer and the Union.

  • Vacation Pay on Termination An employee whose employment is terminated shall receive vacation pay at the appropriate percentage of the wages or salary earned during the period of entitlement in accordance with the employee's years of service.

  • Vacation Policy The Executive shall be entitled to a paid vacation of four weeks during each year of the Term.

  • Sick Leave Provisions ‌ The Employer will provide sick leave credits for the sole and exclusive purpose of protecting employees against loss of income during periods of legitimate illness. At the beginning of each fiscal year (April 1) full-time employees who have successfully completed their probationary or trial period are credited with ninety (90) hours of sick time credits to be paid at one-hundred percent (100%) of their normal earnings. New full-time employees will be allocated sick time credits pro-rated to the date they successfully complete their probationary or trial period. Sick leave credits have no value upon termination of employment and cannot be carried over from one fiscal year to the next. Any employee absenting herself on account of illness, regardless of whether she qualifies for sick leave pay under this Article, subject to extenuating circumstances, shall be required to speak directly with her supervisor or designate prior to the commencement of her shift, and in any event no later than two (2) hours prior to the normal commencement of her shift. An employee may be required to submit a medical certificate with respect to any period of time the employee is absent due to illness for more than three (3) consecutive days. It is understood that the Employer may request a medical certificate from employees to cover any absence due to illness, where a pattern of absence so warrants. In the case of longer absences, the employee must keep his/her supervisor informed at two (2) week intervals of his/her progress and expected date of return to work. Employees are expected to notify their supervisor as early as possible of their expected date of return to work. All employees returning to work after any absence due to illness or injury may be requested to present proof of fitness to return to work in the form of medical documentation from a physician or nurse practitioner. The cost of any medical certificate required will be paid by the employee. Employees are expected to participate in the Employer’s return to work program. A statutory or other declared holiday falling within the sick leave period shall not be charged against the sick leave credits. When and employee’s illness continues beyond their sick leave credits, the sequence shall be as follows: (a) The employee uses up all sick time credits; (b) The employee is placed on a Leave of Absence without pay. The employee is issued a Record of Employment and may apply for Employment Insurance Sick Benefits. While on EI, Community Living will supplement these benefits to eighty percent (80%) of the employee’s regular wages. (c) The employee makes application for long term disability coverage through the benefit plan of the Employer.

  • Vacation Pay Paid Union leaves. All other payments, premiums, allowances etc. are excluded.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

  • Vacation Postponement If a bargaining unit employee’s vacation becomes due during a period when he/she is on leave due to illness or injury, he/she may request: 1. that his/her vacation date be changed. The District shall grant such request in accordance with vacation dates available at that time. 2. to carry over his/her vacation to the following year. Such request shall be made through submission (within two (2) weeks of the employee’s return to duty) of a written vacation plan to the employee’s supervisor for approval.
