Vocational Leave. 13.14.1 A leave of not more than one (1) year may be granted to a permanent unit member to acquire experience and knowledge in his/her field of instruction as a full-time employee in industry or other private employment. An application for vocational leave will be considered by the District only if the nature of the proposed employment is clearly described, and only if the District finds that the proposed employment will contribute directly and substantially to the programs for which the applicant is responsible. 13.14.2 The unit member on vocational leave will be credited with a year of experience for annual step advancement on the salary schedule. A vocational leave will not constitute a break in continuity of service and will be without compensation from the District. 13.14.3 When requesting a vocational leave, the unit member shall notify the District in writing of his/her request prior to April 1. 13.14.4 The granting of the leave, the determination of the date on which the leave shall begin and its duration shall be made by the District.

Vocational Leave. A maximum of six [6] months unpaid leave to employees wishing to test their religious vocation.
Vocational Leave. Employees will be granted vocational leave in order to complete their Certificates of Competency as a Power Engineer. Seniority will accumulate during this period. There will be no loss of regular pay when an employee is away on such leave and no more than one (1) employee may be away on vocational leave at any time. The Company reserves the right to limit the total time away for all employees to thirty (30) working days per year. For purposes of scheduling, consideration will be given to seniority, Company certificate requirements, course completion, and application date and time required. (c) Second Class Certificate Upon completion of the tutorial or correspondence course, in whole or in part, for a Second Class Stationary Steam Engineering Certificate, an employee will be granted up to two (2) five (5) week leaves with pay to attend B.C.I.T. to complete Part A and Part B of the course and write the exam.   • Educational Leave Leave without pay may be granted for educational leave for the duration of actual attendance in an educational program.

  • Additional Leave Any further leave granted beyond the normal thirty-seven (37) week period, or the forty-two (42) week period for special circumstances, will be unpaid leave without benefits.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part-time Nurses who are elected to the College of Nurses to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Nurses who are elected to the RNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Practical Nurses who are elected to the RPNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital. Such requests are to be submitted to the employee's immediate supervisor at least four (4) weeks in advance, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice, and a written reply will be given within fourteen (14) days except in cases of emergency in which case a reply will be given as soon as possible. Employees needing personal leave days for appointments with medical practitioners may utilize the personal leave language. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Casual Leave Employees may be granted casual leave with pay to a maximum of two (2) hours for the following purposes:
