Washington Paid Sick Leave Law. The Port will identify the portion of accrued sick leave that is available for use according to the minimum requirements of the Washington Paid Sick Leave Law on each employee's paycheck (e.g., one (1) hour of accrued sick leave for each forty (40) hours worked by eligible employees). This is not an additional accrual amount. It is a designation of a portion of current accrual amounts. Employees shall be entitled to carryover no more than forty (40) hours of Washington Paid Sick Leave into the following year, provided that any amount over the maximum will be maintained as general sick leave available for use under the terms of this Agreement.   • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Advanced Sick Leave A. An employee may be advanced a maximum of two-hundred forty (240) hours of sick leave. An employee serving under a limited appointment or one that will be terminated on a specified date may be advanced the total sick leave that the employee would otherwise earn during the term of the appointment.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Vacation and Sick Leave At such reasonable times as the Board of Directors shall in its discretion permit, the Employee shall be entitled, without loss of pay, to absent himself voluntarily from the performance of his employment under this Agreement, with all such voluntary absences to count as vacation time; provided that:

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.
