Weekends and Vacations. Volunteer employment for curriculum studies--At the request of the administration, a teacher may volunteer for summer employment to work on curriculum studies. The teacher will be notified in writing as to the number of days and hours involved. The pay for this volunteer summer employment will be based on a per day scale. The teacher will receive ten ($10.00) dollars per hour the first day, thirteen ($13.00) dollars per hour the second day, and sixteen (16.00) dollars per hour on the third and each succeeding day. In an emergency situation requiring the teacher to leave during the course of the regular school day when the Administration has been given no prior notice of this absence, the position shall be filled by a fellow staff member. Each staff member will be available to work in this capacity no more than two (2) unpaid class periods per year. In the elementary, not more than fifty-eight (58) minutes shall constitute a class period. These periods must be within the teacher's normal work day. The Board will reimburse, in addition, Twenty ($20.00) Dollars per semester hour and Fifteen ($15.00) Dollars per term hour, for each hour taken over a B.A. or B.S. continuing provisional certificate or permanent certificate. Teachers will receive extra pay during the school year for extra-curricular activities only if they have a full teaching load as is stated in Articles V and VI. Extra-curricular activities are voluntary. The Xxxxxxx Education Association recognizes the value of interesting its members in participating in such extra-curricular activities as riding game buses and chaperoning dances. Payment for new positions on Schedule B will be negotiated as the position itself is adopted by the Board of Education. The teacher mentor program in Xxxxxxx Schools shall be voluntary.   • ARTICLE VACATIONS For the purpose of calculating eligibility, the vacation year shall be the period from July 1st of any year to June 30th of the following year. The periods at which employees shall take vacation shall be based on the selection by the employee according to seniority in each department, but shall be finally determined by the Administrator having due concern for the proper operation of the Nursing Home. Vacation time will be allotted between the months of May and September inclusive, if possible, unless some other time is mutually arranged between the individual employee and the Employer. Vacations are not cumulative from year to year and all vacations must be taken by May following the cut off date. Employees shall not waive vacation and draw double pay. Employees who have not completed their probationary period as of June 30th will receive four percent (4%) of their gross earnings during the vacation year. Employees who have completed their probationary period as at the vacation cut off date will be granted one day's vacation leave for each month of service to a maximum of ten days. Vacation pay for such employees will be four percent (4%) of gross earnings during the vacation year. Employees with one (1) year of service on or before June 30th of the current year shall receive two (2) weeks vacation. Vacation pay for such employees will be four percent (4%) of gross earnings for the vacation year. Employees with three (3) years of service on or before June 30th of the current year shall receive three (3) weeks vacation. Vacation pay for such employees will be six percent (6%) of gross earnings for the vacation year. Employees with eight (8) years of service on or before June 30th of the current year shall receive four (4) weeks vacation. Vacation pay for such employees will be eight percent (8%) of gross earnings for the vacation year. Employees with fifteen (15) years of service on or before June 30th of the current year shall receive five (5) weeks vacation. Vacation pay for such employees shall be ten percent (10%) of gross earnings for the vacation year. Employees with twenty-five (25) years of service on or before June 30th of the current year shall receive six (6) weeks vacation. Vacation pay for such employees will be twelve percent (12%) of gross earnings for the vacation year. For employees who are regularly scheduled to work seventy-five (75) hours vacation pay is to be paid as a percentage of total earnings or regular pay whichever is greater. Employees who have lost their seniority and have terminated their employment as set out in Article herein, between vacation periods, shall on termination of employment be paid a vacation with pay allowance based on the amount of vacation pay to which such employee shall be entitled from the last cut off date prior to the date of termination. Such allowance shall be paid no later than the next regular payroll date. The Employer may pay vacation pay as part of the regular pay. such circumstances, the Employer undertakes that the rate of income tax on the vacation pay will not change unless the vacation pay changes the employee’s annual tax bracket.

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.

  • ANNUAL VACATIONS Vacation entitlement earned during previous employment shall be credited to the employee, and vacations granted shall be in accordance with such previous entitlement (Articles 28.01 and 28.02).

  • Weeks Vacation Subject to Article 17.08 and Article 17.01 (a) (ii), employees shall be entitled to take five (5) weeks vacation leave with pay during the first and subsequent complete fiscal years following the date in which they complete fourteen (14) years of service. Such leave shall be earned at the rate of two and one-twelfth (2 1/12) days for each completed calendar month of service.
