Work Cycles and Rostered Days Off. The ordinary working hours shall be worked in a ten (10) day/ two (2) week cycle, Monday to Friday inclusive, with eight (8) hours worked for each nine (9) days within the cycle, and with 0.8 of an hour on each of those days accruing towards the tenth (10th) day, which will be taken as a paid day off. The tenth (10th) day shall be known as the Rostered Day Off or ‘RDO’.

Work Cycles and Rostered Days Off. The Employer and Employees can agree in writing on a system that provides for an Employee to accrue 2 RDOs over a 4 calendar week work cycle. This will be done by the Employee working an average of 40 regularly rostered hours per week, being paid 36 hours at the applicable Hourly Rate of Pay and accruing 4 hours towards an RDO at the applicable Hourly Rate of Pay. This enables an Employee to accrue 2 RDOs per 4 week work cycle. RDOs shall be taken at a time mutually agreed between the Employee and the Employer and Employees will be encouraged to take RDO’s regularly to ensure that they are able to balance personal needs and wellbeing with the Employer’s operational needs. An Employee may be directed by the Employer to take RDOs accrued in excess of 5 days. Any accrued but untaken RDOs at the time of an Employee's termination of employment with the Employer will be paid out at the applicable Hourly Rate of Pay (in lieu of being taken).

The paid RDO will be taken at a time mutually agreed between the Company and the relevant Employee/s, provided that 13 RDOs will be scheduled each calendar year. 17.3. Each day of paid leave taken and any public holiday occurring during any cycle of four weeks will be regarded as a day worked for accrual purposes. 17.4. Upon commencement of employment, Employees who have not worked a complete 20 day/four week cycle shall receive pro-rata accrual entitlements for the first RDO or group of RDOs falling after their commencement of employment. Thereafter, RDOs will be paid as they accrue.

Provided that twenty-six RDO’s shall be accrued by an FTM in each twelve months continuous service. 30.2. Each day of paid leave taken and any holiday (as prescribed in the Public Holidays and Holiday Work provisions of the Award), occurring during any cycle of two weeks shall be regarded as a day worked for accrual purposes. 30.3. Upon commencement of employment, FTMs who have not worked a complete ten day/two week cycle, shall receive pro-rata accrual entitlements for the first RDO or group of RDO’s falling after their commencement of employment. Thereafter, for the duration of employment with that employer, RDO’s will be paid in full as they occur. 30.4. Upon termination of employment, an adjustment will be made to ensure that the full RDO entitlement, and no more, has been provided. This means that FTMs then having received more RDO’s than they were entitled to will have the relevant amount removed from final termination payments, and FTMs who have received less than their full RDO entitlement will have the outstanding amount added to final termination payments.

  • Scheduled Days Off Except in cases of emergency, no employee will be required to return to his/her place of employment on his/her scheduled day off.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • DAYS AND HOURS OF WORK The standard workweek for workers occupying full-time positions consists of 40 hours unless otherwise specified by the Board of Supervisors. The appointing authority shall fix the hours of work with due regard for the convenience of the public and the laws of the State and the County. Workers occupying part-time positions shall work such hours and schedules as the Board and the appointing authority shall prescribe.

  • Workweek A regularly re-occurring period of one hundred and sixty-eight (168) hours consisting of seven (7) consecutive twenty-four (24) hour periods. Workweeks will normally begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday or as otherwise designated by the appointing authority. If there is a change in their workweek, employees will be given written notification by the appointing authority or their designee.

  • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • Shifts In the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, the Agency may schedule nursing personnel on a rotational shift basis for a temporary period during the opening of new facilities. The Agency shall not schedule any employee to rotate more than two (2) different shifts in any four (4) week scheduling period. Exceptions may be mutually agreed to by the parties. In the other Agencies, shifts shall not be rotated unless mutually agreed to by the parties.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Work Days The work day shall consist of an assigned shift within twenty-four (24) consecutive hours commencing at 12:01 a.m.
