Except for an employee in a classification enumerated in Appendix B, the Agency/Department Head shall prepare a schedule showing the hours each employee of the County in his/her agency/department is to work. Except in cases of emergency, employees shall be given ten working days’ notice of any change in shift schedule.

Except under unforeseeable circumstances, the Sheriff shall make every reasonable effort to assure that no employee shall have more than one change of work schedule in any workweek. Fourteen days advance notice of departmental work schedule changes and seventy-two (72) hours advance notice of intra-unit work schedule changes shall be mandatory. An employee may voluntarily request to change assignments prior to the conclusion of the notice period. Otherwise, no departmental or intra-unit schedule change will become effective except for unforeseeable circumstances, until the respective mandatory notice period has transpired.

Except in cases of emergency or unforeseeable circumstances, employees who are reassigned to a different work location shall be given ten (10) calendar days’ notice of any change in work location.
