Wounded Warrior Sick Leave. In addition to any other entitlement for sick leave with pay, a state officer or employee hired on or after January 1, 2016, who is a military veteran with a military service-connected disability rated at thirty (30) percent or more by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs shall be entitled to additional credit for sick leave with pay of up to ninety six (96) hours for the purpose of undergoing medical treatment for his or her military service-connected disability. Wounded Warrior Sick Leave. In accordance with The Wounded Warriors Federal Leave Act of 2015 (P.L. 114-75, Nov. 5, 2015) (5 U.S.C.6329): and HRDG 4630 - Absence and Leave - Subsection d – Wounded Warrior Sick Leave; if a Wounded Warrior employee presents an official statement from a duly-constituted medical authority that medical treatment is required, then he/she must be granted sick leave, annual leave, or LWOP if necessary. The employee must give prior notice of the period during which absence for treatment will occur. • Is also known as “Disabled Veterans Leave” (DVL). • Creates an additional but temporary sick leave category for 30% or more disabled veterans. • Is for new employees. • Entitles veterans with a 30% or more service-connected disability to 104 hours of sick leave while undergoing medical treatment for the disability. • Makes the sick leave available on the first day of employment and continues for a 12-month period.   • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Cumulative Sick Leave 16.1 Employees covered by this collective agreement will carry forward their accumulated sick leave days from the predecessor school boards to a maximum of 280 days. Effective September 1, 1999 employees (other than temporary employees) shall be credited with two (2) days of sick leave for each month of active full time service to a yearly maximum of 20 days for ten month employees. Effective September 1, 2003 100% of the unused days each year are accumulated, to a possible sick leave total of three hundred (300) days. Sick leave days will be pro-rated for part-time employment.

  • Annual Sick Leave All full-time employees (i.e. hours per week) shall be entitled to twenty (20) days of sick leave per year. An employee joining the Board staff during the year shall be given current sick leave credits on the basis of days for each months' employment. The sick leave entitlement for part-time employees shall be according to time worked.

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Cumulative Sick Leave Plan Each employee shall accumulate sick leave with pay entitlement at the rate of one-half work day for each full bi-weekly pay period on paid status up to a maximum accumulation of 155 days of unused sick leave with pay entitlement.

  • Extended Unpaid Maternity Leave (a) An employee is entitled to apply for leave without pay following Maternity Leave (“extended unpaid Maternity Leave”) to extend their leave by up to two years.

  • Sick Leave Use Sick leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons:
