Heritage Day definition

Heritage Day is declared by the Government as a holiday, it shall be added to the listing in Clause 16.01 (a) above.
Heritage Day shall be added to the list of Statutory Holidays as a tenth (10th) Statutory Holiday if proclaimed as a holiday during the term of this Collective Agreement. A full-time employee covered by this Agreement shall be eligible for a personal holiday with pay once during each calendar year at a time mutually agreed upon between the Employer and the employee concerned. When a Statutory Holiday occurs in a week during which an employee is scheduled to work all of his shifts on the night crew, such an employee shall receive Statutory Holiday pay inclusive of the night shift premium. Employees who are off on compensation, accident or illness shall receive Statutory Holiday pay if they have worked within seven (7) days of the holiday. Should a Statutory Holiday occur within an employee's leave of absence, he shall not be paid for such Statutory Holiday. In the event a Statutory Holiday falls on a Sunday, the next work day shall be recognized and paid as a holiday. In the event that day is also a holiday, the next work day shall be recognized and paid as a holiday. No employee will be scheduled to work on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve beyond In the event stores are open for business on a Statutory Holiday, or a day celebrated in lieu of a Statutory Holiday, the Employer may require employees to work that day and shall pay them two times their regular rate of pay plus the day's pay for such holiday. The Employer shall pay all employees two times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked on a Sunday which are not related to the store opening for business. This provision shall not apply to employees on the night crew who may be required to commence their scheduled shift prior to midnight on Sunday night. When this premium is paid, no other premiums or bonuses will apply to such hours worked. The Employer shall pay all employees one and one-half (I their regular rate of pay for all hours worked on the employee's scheduled day off. Employees who work on a fourth (4th) or fifth (5th) day in a week during which one (1) or two (2) holidays as listed are observed, shall receive times their regular hourly rate for all hours so worked on the fourth (4th) or fifth (5th) day. Examples of Heritage Day in a sentence

  • In the event that the Provincial Government declares an additional holiday (such as Heritage Day) during the term of this Agreement, such holiday will be substituted for one of the above-mentioned holidays.

  • The understanding is that the date of the additional holiday will correspond with Heritage Day.

  • This Personal Floating Holiday is in lieu of the proposed Heritage Day, but this section shall come into operation on its effective date even if Heritage Day has or has not been proclaimed.

Related to Heritage Day

  • Child day care center and "center" means any place in which child day care is provided for thirteen or more children at one time or any place that is not the permanent residence of the licensee or administrator in which child day care is provided for seven to twelve children at one time. In counting children for the purposes of this definition, any children under six years of age who are related to a licensee, administrator or employee and who are on the premises of the center shall be counted.

  • School day means any day or partial day that students are in attendance at school for instructional purposes.

  • Central Time means Central Time as adjusted for daylight savings time.

  • Adult day care center means any facility that is either operated for profit or that desires licensure

  • Garden means an area within a cemetery established by the cemetery as a subdivision for organizational purposes, not for sale purposes.

  • Real-Time Market has the meaning set forth in the CAISO Tariff.

  • Real-time Energy Market means the purchase or sale of energy and payment of Transmission Congestion Charges for quantity deviations from the Day-ahead Energy Market in the Operating Day.

  • Weekend means a Saturday and the following Sunday, assuring a minimum of fifty-six (56) hours off duty;

  • Travel Time is the time an Interpreter uses to commute to and from an Appointment. Travel time, if more than one (1) hour each way, is added to the total time of the initial Appointment request.   • Daytime means the period between sunrise and sunset.

  • Real-time means the actual time during which a process or event occurs.

  • Day care center means any child day care facility other than a family day care home, and includes infant centers, preschools, extended day care facilities and school age child care centers.

  • Bank Business Day means a day on which the Bank conducts business activities as per its effective opening hours, so when the Bank is open for the purpose of executing payment transactions.

  • Day Care Centre means any institution established for day care treatment of illness and/or injuries or a medical setup with a hospital and which has been registered with the local authorities, wherever applicable, and is under supervision of a registered and qualified medical practitioner and must comply with all minimum criterion as under -

  • Zurich Banking Day means a day on which banks are open in the City of Zurich for the settlement of payments and of foreign exchange transactions.

  • Day means calendar day.

  • Holiday means the twenty-four (24) hour period commencing at 0001 hours of a day designated as a paid holiday in this Agreement.

  • RFR Banking Day means any day specified as such in the Reference Rate Terms.
