Shared Leave A. The purpose of the leave sharing program is to permit state employees, at no significantly increased cost to the State, to come to the aid of another state employee who is likely to go on leave without pay status or terminate state employment because the employee:
Shared Leave Use A. The Employer will determine the amount of leave, if any, which an employee may receive. However, an employee will not receive more than five hundred twenty- two (522) days of shared leave during their entire duration of state employment, except that, the Employer may authorize shared leave in excess of five hundred twenty-two (522) days in extraordinary circumstances for an employee qualifying for the shared leave program because he or she is suffering from an illness, injury, impairment or physical or mental condition that is of an extraordinary nature.
Shared Leave Administration A. The calculation of the recipient’s leave value will be in accordance with applicable Office of Financial Management policies, regulations, and procedures. The leave received will be coded as shared leave and be maintained separately from all other leave balances. All paid leave accrued must be used prior to using shared leave when the employee qualifies for shared leave under 13.2 A.1. Accrued vacation leave and paid military leave allowed under RCW 38.40.060 must be used prior to using shared leave for employees qualified under 13.2 A.2. All paid leave, except sick leave, must be used prior to using shared leave when the employee qualifies for shared leave under 13.2 A.3 and 13.2 A.4.
Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office. Prepaid Leave Permanent Employees will be entitled to take a leave of absence financed through a salary deferral arrangement in accordance with the provisions of the Prepaid Leave Plan set out in Article 44 of this Agreement.
Reemployment List 1. When all paid or unpaid leaves of absence have been exhausted following an industrial accident or industrial illness, an employee shall be placed on the reemployment list for the class from which he/she was on leave for a period not to exceed thirty-nine (39) months.
Return from Leave of Absence (a) Before a Nurse may return to work from a leave granted under Article 9.00, she or he must provide a minimum of four (4) weeks written notice of the specific date of his or her return to work, or such shorter time as mutually agreed.
Prepaid Leave Plan The Employer agrees to introduce a prepaid leave program, funded solely by the nurse, subject to the following terms and conditions:
