ARTICLE GENERAL. The Employer and the Union desire that each employee be familiar with the provisions of this agreement and the rights and obligations under it. Copies of the Agreement shall be produced and paid for in alternate years by the Employer and the Union and distributed to the local Union for employees of the Association and the Employer as required. Where a full-time employee is regularly scheduled to work more than thirty-two (32) but less than forty per week then that employee shall be paid at the hourly equivalent of the full time rate and receive benefits based on the ratio of hours worked to regular full time hours.
ARTICLE GENERAL. The Company agrees to bear the cost of moving the furniture and other personal belongings of any employee permanently transferred at the Company’s request to another branch of the Company. Personnel shall be allowed time off to vote in Dominion, Provincial or Municipal elections in accordance with the appropriate statute. All employees must be given dated receipts for all monies turned into the Company.
ARTICLE GENERAL. All correspondence between the parties arising out of this Collective Agreement or incidental thereto, shall pass to and from the Director of Education or designate and the President of the Local.

ARTICLE GENERAL. It is understood and agreed that where an employee covered by this Agreement is receiving rates of wages, vacations with pay or paid statutory holidays in excess of those provided for in this Agreement, the Employerwill not reduce such benefits to such employee through the signing of this Agreement. Employees may be granted a leave of absence for personal reasons without pay and without loss of seniority for periods of up to three (3) months. An employee granted such leave of absence returning to work at the time agreed on completion of the leave of absence will not have his rate of pay reduced by reason of having been granted such leave. An employee on leave of absence with the Employer's permission will be permitted to return to his own job upon return to work. the request for the leave of absence is made in writing and delivered to management within a reasonable time prior to the proposed commencement of the requested leave; and not more than two (2) employees will be entitled to such leave during the same period and there shall be a maximum of five (5) days per calendar year granted; the leave will not unduly interfere with the Company's operations. Approval of such leave shall not be unreasonablydenied. The Company will respond to such requests within a reasonable period following the written request. Wherever the masculine pronoun is used in this Agreement, it shall be considered to include the feminine where the context so requires. The Employer shall: per pair of safety shoes once per year, upon receipt of voucher, OR provide safety shoes once per year, to employees who are required by their Employer to wear safety shoes. There will be a five (5) minute wash-up period at the end of shift for soil handlers, maintenanceemployees and any employee presentlygranted the wash-up period. It is agreed that tow motor operators and wash line will be considered classified employees. Employees will not be docked pay for lateness at start of shift up to five (5) minutes. However, employees remain subject to discipline for repeated lateness and chronic abuse of the grace period may result in its discontinuance. Employees will be given forty-eight (48) hours' notice of a planned layoff for lack of work. All employees shall be entitled to maternity leave or parental leave as provided by the Employment Standards Act in effect at the time. On the request of either party, the parties shall meet at least once every two
ARTICLE GENERAL. The Corporation agrees to maintain Errors and Omissions Insurance, subject to the terms and conditions of any governing master policy or statutory requirement. It is understood that such Errors and Omissions Insurance may, by mutual agreement, be amended should changes to the Municipal Act preclude the need for such coverage. All employees using their personal vehicle for authorized Corporation business, will be reimbursed the mileage rate in accordance with the City’s policy. It is understood that Construction Inspectors who are eligible under Plan of the City Car Allowance Policy, will be reimbursed at the rate for Plan for any occasional vehicle use, not related to Construction Inspection duties, during the off season. The reimbursement rate is in accordance with the City’s policy. Wherever the singular or masculine is used in this Agreement, it shall be considered as if the plural or feminine has been used, wherever the context so requires.

ARTICLE GENERAL. The Employer will provide bulletin boards for the sole purpose of posting Union notices to its members. The bulletin boards shall be located to insure it is visible to all bargaining unit employees. Adequate rest rooms shall be provided and kept heated and ventilated and in a sanitary condition. The employee shall cooperate with the Employer in keeping the rest rooms in a clean and sanitary condition. The Employer shall reimburse the Union fifty percent (50%) of the cost of printing this Collective Agreement for all bargaining unit employees.
ARTICLE GENERAL. In accordance with the spirit of this Agreement, both parties pledge themselves to co-operate in making the arrangements successful, and to use their influence and efforts for the promotion and development of goodwill, it being understood that this Agreement shall not operate in any way as to restrict output, impede processes of manufacture or management, but shall encourage maximum production and minimum cost and fair and equitable treatment to any individual concerned in it.
ARTICLE GENERAL. The Company shall supply a locked bulletin board in a mutually agreed location for the purposes of posting Union notices. Drivers are required to conduct all trip inspections and reports and maintain current and accurate logs. Drivers must the Company immediately when their logs are taken for review or copied at any inspection point, or at all. Should the Company deem it necessary for an employee to wear a uniform during his course of employment, he will wear same, keeping it clean and in good repair.
