ARTICLE IX - GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE. It is the mutual desire of the parties hereto that complaints of employees shall be adjusted as quickly as possible and it is generally understood that an employee has no grievance until he has first given to his supervisor an opportunity to adjust his complaint, and that such complaint shall be registered within fifteen working days of the alleged circumstances coming to the knowledge of the employee.

ARTICLE IX - GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE. The parties hereto recognize the need for fairness and justice in the adjudication of employee and/or County grievances and enter into this Agreement in a cooperative spirit to adjust such actions promptly and fairly at the lowest level possible. If, however, a grievance cannot be resolved through normal means, the grievance will be settled as hereinafter provided.
ARTICLE IX - GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE. It is the mutual desire of the parties hereto that any complaints experienced by members of the Association shall be adjusted as quickly as possible and it is understood that an employee has no grievance until they have first given their immediate supervisor an opportunity to adjust the complaint. UComplaint StageU: An employee who has a complaint shall discuss it with their appropriate immediate supervisor, if unresolved then with the U Manager of OperationsU within ten (10) days after the employee could reasonably be expected to have become aware of the circumstances giving rise to the complaint, in a sincere attempt to resolve the complaint at this preliminary stage. The Sergeant or UManager of OperationsU shall have seven (7) calendar days to seek advice and information and to communicate an answer to the complainant. If the complainant and the supervisor fail to resolve the complaint to the complainant’s satisfaction or if the Sergeant or UManager of OperationsU fails to discuss, acknowledge or otherwise deal with the complaint, the member may invoke Step 1 of the grievance procedure. If a member of the Association meets with the UManager of OperationsU during the complaint stage, then they may be accompanied by an Association representative. UStep 1U: Within seven (7) calendar days after the decision is given, the employee, accompanied by a committee person, may submit a grievance in writing to the Director, Campus Community Police, Fire Prevention & Parking Services. The grievance shall be in writing on a grievance form supplied by the Association and approved by the University and shall include the nature of the grievance, the section or sections of the agreement which are alleged to have been violated, and the remedy sought. The Director, Campus Community Police, Fire Prevention & Parking Services shall deliver a decision in writing to the employee and the committee person within seven (7) calendar days following the presentation of the grievance to them. If the member is dissatisfied with the decision of the Director, Campus Community Police, Fire Prevention & Parking Services, or the Director, Campus Community Police, Fire Prevention & Parking Services fails or refuses to deal with the grievance within seven (7) calendar days, the member may proceed to Step 2. UStep 2U: Within seven (7) calendar days after the decision in Step 1 is given, the grievor, accompanied by a committee person may submit the grievance in writing to the Assistant Vice-Pre...

The immediate management supervisor shall be allowed five (5) days to seek information and advice and to communicate his/her answer to the complainant. ARTICLE IX - GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE. 9.01 It is the intent of these procedures to provide for the orderly settlement of a difference in a fair and equitable manner. The resolution of a grievance at the earliest possible stage is encouraged. 9.02 A Service Unit member shall have the right to present a grievance in accordance with these procedures, free from coercion, interference, restraint, discrimination or reprisal. 9.03 A Service Unit member shall have the right to be represented at any stage of the procedures by a person or persons of his/her own choice. 9.04 Each party to a grievance shall have access at reasonable times to all written statements and records pertaining to such case.
