Instructional Time a. In this article, "instructional time" means that time which is part of the normally scheduled working timetable of a school. It includes instruction, learning assistance, teacher-librarian supervision, recess, "morning break", period change, homeroom period, and preparation time. It does not include lunchtime intermission.
b. In an elementary school, the instructional time for any full-time teacher shall average, and not normally exceed, 300 minutes per day.
c. In a middle and secondary school, the instructional time for any full-time teacher shall average, and not normally exceed, 330 minutes per day.
d. Instructional time shall normally take place within a time-frame of consecutive hours and minutes, exclusive of the lunch intermission. Any variations to this shall only be made with the agreement of the supervising administrative officer and the teachers affected.
e. For those teachers with secondary counselling responsibility and/or positions of district responsibility, flexible timetables shall be agreed to by the teachers concerned and the appropriate administrative officer.
f. When a part-time teacher is requested by the Board to attend staff or district organized activities on a non-instructional day which occurs at a time, or on a day outside of the regular assignment of that teacher, they shall be compensated pursuant to Article
Instructional Time. 26.1 Each full-time elementary teacher's regular weekly assignment shall not exceed 23 hours 45 minutes of instructional time inclusive of preparation time as provided for in Article D.4 except for teachers who enrol only Kindergarten whose regular weekly assignment shall not exceed 24 hours of instruction time inclusive of preparation time.
26.2 Each full-time teacher of secondary school, and secondary teachers of the Centre for Learning Alternatives will have a regular weekly assignment not exceeding 25 hours 45 minutes of instructional time inclusive of preparation time as provided for in Article D.4.
26.3 Each full-time middle school teacher’s regular weekly assignment shall not exceed 25 hours 28 minutes of instructional time, inclusive of preparation time as provided for in Article D.4.
26.4 Each part-time teacher's regular weekly assignment of instructional time shall be pro rated from the limits outlined in Article D.26.1, D.26.2 and D.26.3 above.
26.5 No teacher shall be required to offer instruction beyond an interval of 7.0 consecutive hours inclusive of:
a. a regular noon intermission;
b. recess;
c. homeroom;
d. preparation time as provided for in Article D.4; and
e. time for students to change classrooms.
Instructional Time. Effective September 1, 2009, each member with a full-time assignment in elementary schools shall be assigned to provide instruction to pupils for a maximum of one thousand three hundred and forty minutes (1290) per week. Effective September 1, 2010, each member with a full-time assignment in elementary schools shall be assigned to provide instruction to pupils for a maximum of one thousand three hundred and twenty minutes (1280) per week. Effective September 1, 2011, each member with a full-time assignment in elementary schools shall be assigned to provide instruction to pupils for a maximum of one thousand three hundred minutes (1270) per week. Effective August 31, 2012, each member with a full-time assignment in elementary schools shall be assigned to provide instruction to pupils for a maximum of one thousand two hundred and sixty minutes (1260) per week. The instructional day shall be three hundred (300) minutes commencing with the start of opening exercises or the start of instruction, whichever comes first, and ending with the students’ dismissal from school for the day exclusive of lunch/nutrition break(s) and recess break(s).
Instructional Time. The school week for Members shall consist of 1500 minutes composed of 1260 minutes of instructional time and 240 minutes of preparation time per cycle of five instructional days. The Member school week excludes the time allocated for recesses and lunch break.
Instructional Time. D.26.1 Each full time elementary teacher’s regular weekly assignment shall not exceed 25 hours of instructional time inclusive of preparation time as provided in this agreement.
D.26.2 Each full time secondary teacher's regular weekly assignment shall not exceed 27 1/2 hours of instructional time inclusive of preparation time as provided in this Agreement.
D.26.3 Each full time Middle School teacher's regular weekly assignment shall not exceed 26 3/4 hours of instructional time inclusive of preparation time as provided for in this Agreement.
D.26.4 Instructional time shall be defined as classroom instruction plus homeroom, time between classes, and preparation time.
Instructional Time. The parties agree that the Employer’s policy with respect to the assignment and allocation of instructional time shall be as follows, which shall not be changed without the consent of the Union: The Employer shall ensure that each full-time Teacher in elementary schools is assigned to provide instruction to pupils for no more than one thousand, two hundred, sixty (1260) minutes for each period of five (5) instructional days.
Instructional Time. Prior to the Board altering the instructional time of teachers it shall seek the approval of the Association which shall not be unreasonably withheld. In the event that the Board intends to seek approval for such alteration, it shall give at least ten (10) days written notice to the Association of such proposed change(s).
Instructional Time. The Parties agree that each Teacher’s instructional time shall be as follows, which shall not be changed without the consent of the Union:
L11.04.01 Part-time Teachers shall have their instruction-to-pupil time pro-rated,
L11.04.02 The Board shall ensure that each full-time Teacher in elementary schools is assigned to provide instruction to pupils for each cycle of five (5) instructional days during the school year for no more than fifteen hundred (1500) minutes less the prep time provided as outlined within Article L11.05.
L11.04.03 The Instructional Day shall be 300 minutes commencing with the start of opening exercises or the start of instruction, whichever comes first, and ending with students’ dismissal from school for the day exclusive of lunch, nutritional and recess breaks.
Instructional Time. Such time may be purchased only for whole classes. The charge to the Association will be the cost to the District of employing an hourly instructor to teach the class or classes from which the instructor has been reassigned. No individual faculty member may be reassigned for more than 6 units in any semester under the provisions of this section.
