Changed Schedules/Changed Shifts. The Employer shall make every reasonable effort not to change schedules once posted. The Employer shall advise any Nurse of an intended change in the Nurse’s schedule as soon as it is known by the Employer.

(a) A minimum of forty-eight (48) hours notice in advance of a scheduled shift shall be given to the Nurse when the shift to be worked is changed. A change of shift occurs when both the scheduled start time and end time for a scheduled shift are changed or the calendar date of the shift is changed.
(b) Except where the change is by mutual agreement between the Nurse and the Employer, if the schedule is changed by the Employer without the minimum forty-eight (48) hours notice prior to the start of the original shift, the Nurse shall be compensated at the overtime rate for each hour worked.
(c) The requirement to work additional hours continuous to an assigned shift (whether before the shift or after the shift) is not a change of schedule and the Nurse shall be compensated for the additional hours in accordance with the overtime provisions set out in Article 7.15 of this Collective Agreement.
(d) This provision is not applicable to a Casual Nurse (except a Casual Nurse while in a Temporary Position).
(e) Working a relief shift by the Part-Time Nurse and Casual Nurse is not a change of schedule.

(a)* A minimum of twenty-four (24) hours notice in advance of a scheduled shift shall be given to the Nurse when the shift to be worked is changed. A change of shift occurs when both the scheduled start time and end time for a scheduled shift is changed or the calendar date of the shift is changed. (b)* Except where the change is by mutual agreement between the Nurse and the Employer, if the schedule is changed by the Employer without the minimum twenty-four (24) hours notice prior to the start of the original shift, the Nurse shall be compensated at the overtime rate for each hour worked.
