Employees without accrued vacation or compensatory time off will take unpaid leave. 2017-2018 City Hall will be closed between December 27 and December 29, 2017. City Hall Closure. When the City Manager determines conditions exist that City Hall and similar city-wide operations are closed for regular business, the City Manager will identify which employee groups/classifications are affected and those that must remain or report to provide immediate essential services. Under a closure, employees that are directed to not report, are unable to report or must leave work early due to the circumstances of the event, may use accrued leave time (including sick leave) or take leave without pay for the duration of the closure. The City will develop and maintain a notification system in order to notify employees of a City closure at the earliest reasonable time.
City Hall Closure. The City reserves the right to close City Hall and other departments approximately between the Christmas and New Year holidays. Workers in departments affected by the closure may use Vacation, Compensatory Time Off, and Administrative Leave, Personal Business Leave or unpaid leave on the closure days. Any worker who desires to work on a closure day will be permitted to do so unless the employee’s supervisor cannot identify appropriate work, location and supervision. The City will notify the Union of a City department closure by June 1st.
City Hall Closure. During the term of this Agreement, City Hall will be closed on the following days: • In the year 2004: Monday, December 27; Tuesday, December 28 and Wednesday, December 29. • In the year 2005: Tuesday, December 27; Wednesday, December 28 and Thursday, December 29. The above closure shall not be treated as holidays for purposes of compensation. Instead, the following provisions apply: ▪ Regular full-time employees who are regularly assigned to work the above listed days shall receive nine (9) hours, ten (10) hours or twelve (12) hours pay for those days listed above that fall on either Monday, Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday, depending on what work shift to which those employees are regularly assigned for those days of the week (i.e., if an employee is regularly assigned to work a 12-hour shift on Monday, December 27, 2004 and does not work pursuant to this provision, he/she would receive 12 hours pay). ▪ Regular full-time employees who are regularly assigned to work the above listed days shall receive eight (8) hours, ten (10) hours or twelve (12) hours pay for those days listed above that fall on Friday, depending on what work shift to which those employees are regularly assigned for those days of the week. ▪ Regular full-time employees who are regularly assigned to work the above listed days, and who work an eight (8)-hour, five (5)-day schedule will receive eight (8) hours pay for each of the days listed. ▪ If one or more of the days listed above falls on an employee’s regularly scheduled day off, the employee will receive nine (9) hours vacation credit for those days listed above that fall on either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, or eight (8) hours vacation credit for those days listed above that fall on a Friday. ▪ City Hall closure will not be paid to employees on unpaid leave. Employees who are required to work on any of days listed above shall receive vacation credits on an hour-for-hour basis for hours actually worked in addition to the pay described above, excluding overtime hours, whether or not those employees were assigned to work. For employees who are assigned to work and do not report to work due to an unanticipated reason, this time off shall be counted against other paid leaves if available, rather than the pay described above.

  • School Closure The School shall make reasonable efforts to promptly notify the public, which may include notice to the Department of Education, of any circumstance requiring the closure of the School, including, but not limited to, a natural disaster, such as an earthquake, storm, tsunami, flood, or other weather-related event, other extraordinary emergency, or destruction of or damage to the School facility;

  • School Closures If school must be canceled, the school year shall be extended and vacations and in-service days and holidays not required by Statute may be utilized to meet State and District curriculum requirements. The district will consult with the President of the Association (s) before revising the calendar as required. Such time will be made up without additional pay. Any student school days waived by OSPI due to emergency school closure shall also be work days waived for certificated staff. There shall be no loss of pay in such an instance.

  • School Closing In the event that school is closed for any reason and the School District does not require employees to perform services, employees shall be compensated as follows:

  • School Closings In the event of any school closing, employees will report for duty only if so requested by an appropriate supervisor. Employees requested to report for duty will be compensated by receiving an alternative day off agreed upon with their supervisor. Employees not requested to report would be paid for up to five (5) days of school closing or such days will be made up if all other employees are required to make up such days.

  • PLANT CLOSURE 29.01 In the event the Company closes the plant at the Cambridge location as a result of the loss of business or a discontinuation of all operations, severance pay will be calculated at one (1) week’s regular pay per year of service. The severance payment, so calculated, is inclusive of any severance payment required by the Ontario Employment Standards Act (Revised 2000). This agreement is not applicable to a sale of the business or if the closure is occasioned by a labour dispute.
