COMPENSATION FOR COVERING CLASSES. All secondary Teachers shall be guaranteed a daily preparation. In the event that a Teacher is asked by an administrator to act as a substitute Teacher during their preparation period, they shall be paid the same hourly rate as the current voluntary pay (1 hour for each class period that they substitute), as long as one of the following criteria applies:
COMPENSATION FOR COVERING CLASSES. 49 1 Employees assigned to cover classes will receive compensation at the individual Employee 2 professional rate of pay, for each period covered, provided planning time is lost by the 3 Employee or such coverage assignment results in work served beyond the work day.
COMPENSATION FOR COVERING CLASSES. 3.1 Any employee who is required to cover a class which results in his/her forfeiting his/her preparation period or duty-free lunch time shall be compensated at the rate of $12/class period if a timesheet is turned in by the 20th of each month.
COMPENSATION FOR COVERING CLASSES. Certified employees that are assigned to cover for an absentee certified employee during their own lunch or planning period will be paid seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) per thirty minute period or major portion thereof. The administration will make every effort to fill these assignments on a voluntary basis. If no one volunteers for the duty, the Principal will appoint someone to cover for the absent teacher. To qualify for this section, the certified employee must be absent from the building and a substitute is not employed. However, situations requiring the certified employee's participation in school business (as determined by the Principal) within the building may also fall under this section. (Amended 2015)
COMPENSATION FOR COVERING CLASSES. 19.1. Any teacher who is assigned to cover a class which requires him/her to forfeit his/her preparation period shall be compensated at the rate of fifteen ($15.00) dollars per hour or seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) per 1/2 hour. In no case shall a teacher be compensated for supervision of his/her own class in the event of a schedule change or absence of a supplement teacher when a substitute is not hired. The payment for covering classes will be made monthly.
COMPENSATION FOR COVERING CLASSES. 3.1 Any employee who is requested to cover the class by the principal which requires him/her to forfeit his/her preparation period or lunch period shall be compensated at the rate of five (5) dollars per half (1/2) hour, or any portion thereof. No employee shall cover more than one (1) class at a time, including his/her own. Compensation for covering classes shall be made monthly. Employees shall turn in time sheets delineating such service weekly.
COMPENSATION FOR COVERING CLASSES. In consideration for teachers covering classes for other teachers when no substitutes are available, the Board of Education will contribute 50 days annually to the Catastrophic Illness Leave Bank. The following provision is effective on/retroactive to October 25, 2021. Teachers covering a class in lieu of assignment of a daily substitute will be paid the portion of the daily substitute rate equivalent to the timeframe covered by the teacher (such as a period, half-day, or full-day).
COMPENSATION FOR COVERING CLASSES. The Board will provide compensation at the rate of twenty-five dollars ($25) per period for those teachers asked by an administrator to cover for absent employees during his/her conference period. A teacher xxx refuse to cover a class if it is during his/her conference period. Periods covered need to be submitted to the treasurer prior to each payroll to receive compensation. Teacher Coverage Report must be used in Appendix C.
COMPENSATION FOR COVERING CLASSES. (applies to teachers only) When a teacher covers for another teacher during their prep period or covers two classes at the same time at the request of an administrator, the teacher who is doing the extra work may elect to be paid at the hourly rate or be compensated by being allowed additional leave equal to the time given to the additional teaching duties. Hours earned pursuant to this section may be carried over only to the following school year. If the hours are still unused by the following June, unused hours will be paid at the extra duty rate on the June paycheck.

For hours served beyond those served by other high school 28 teachers for the purpose of required staff and department meetings, 29 ‘zero’ (‘0’) period teachers will be compensated at the specified 30 professional duties stipend. 32 G. Vacancies, Reassignment, and Transfers 34 The Board recognizes that it is desirable in making assignments to 35 consider the interests and aspirations of its employees. The District 36 will give consideration to the preference indicated by the Employee. 37 However, that preference may be denied if it is not in the best interest 38 of the District. 39
