COURT APPEARANCES AND JURY DUTY. (a) Employees shall be granted leave with pay if subpoenaed to appear in court in their capacity as an employee.
(b) Any regular employee who is required to perform jury duty on a regular working day will be released to serve. The employee will be reimbursed by the Association for the difference between the pay received for said jury duty and the employee's regular salary for the said period of time. The employee will be required to furnish proof of jury duty service and the pay received.
(c) If an employee believes that jury duty would be a hardship, the Employer shall assist the employee to request an exemption from serving by providing a letter for the employee.
(d) If the employee is required to serve, the employee shall explore possibilities to limit her service to a maximum of seven (7) days.

a) On application to the Manager of Human Resources through the Principal, a Member required by subpoena to appear as a witness in a court case shall be granted a Leave of Absence with pay and no loss to accumulated sick leave.
b) On application to the Manager of Human Resources, a Member who is subpoenaed to appear as a witness in a court case and who is a party to the action will be granted a Leave of Absence without pay.

b. While serving on jury duty, Paraprofessionals shall be paid the difference between their regular pay and jury pay.

COURT APPEARANCES AND JURY DUTY. A. All employees shall be granted time off without loss of pay, vacation time or other compensatory time for mandated jury duty. The employee must be scheduled to work in order to receive administrative leave for jury duty.
B. Employees volunteering for jury duty shall not receive paid time off for jury duty.
C. Any employee required to appear in any court proceeding due to circumstances arising from their employment will receive their regular rate for the period spent in court. The employee shall also be reimbursed for all related travel expenses.
D. Employees granted time off for jury duty must reimburse the County any money/fees received for jury duty.

a) Who is subpoenaed for a matter related to his/her employment/Employer (including MERC).
b) Witnessing an accident while on duty.
c) Is involved in an accident while on duty.
d) Elected Union Officials who are required to be in court/MERC for matters related to the Employer do not need to be subpoenaed.
2. An employee who serves on jury duty will be paid the difference between their pay for jury duty and regular pay.
