Defence Reservist Leave. 62.1. An employee will be granted leave (with or without pay) to enable the employee to fulfil ADF Reserve and Continuous Full Time Service (CFTS) or Cadet Force obligations.
62.2. An employee is entitled to leave with pay, of up to four weeks during each financial year, and an additional two weeks paid leave in the first year of ADF Reserve Service, for the purpose of fulfilling service in the ADF Reserve.
62.3. With the exception of the additional two weeks in the first year of service, leave can be accumulated and taken over a period of two years.
62.4. Defence Reserve leave counts as service for all purposes except for unpaid leave to undertake CFTS. Unpaid leave for the purpose of CFTS counts as service for all purposes except annual leave accrual.
Defence Reservist Leave. 57.3.1 The Y will recognised Reservists serving in the Defence services and release employee Reservists to undertake all types of Defence service, and to continue to employ them on their return. Defence Reservist Leave is unpaid leave entitlement for registered Australian Defence Services recognised personnel.
57.3.2 Releasing a reservist included service and training. Reservists should, as a matter of good practice, always give the Y as much notice as possible of the dates they will be absent from work on Defence service as referenced by Defence Reserve Service (Protection) Act 2001.
Defence Reservist Leave. E9.1. The Director-General may grant leave (with or without pay) to enable an employee to fulfil Australian Defence Force (ADF) Reserve and Continuous Full-Time Service (CFTS) obligations, Cadet Force obligations or any other Defence Force requirements.
E9.2. An employee is to be granted Defence Reservist Leave with pay, for up to five weeks during each financial year for the purpose of undertaking service in the
E9.3. An additional two weeks paid leave may be granted during the employee’s first year of ADF Reserve service to facilitate participation in recruit/initial employment training.
E9.4. Defence Reservist Leave can be built up and taken over two consecutive years. This includes the extra two weeks in the first year of service.
E9.5. An employee who is an Australian Defence Force Cadet officer or instructor can get paid leave up to three weeks in each financial year to perform their duties. Australian Defence Force Cadets means:
a. Australian Navy Cadets;
b. Australian Army Cadets; and
c. Australian Air Force Cadets.
6. In addition to the entitlement at clauses E9.2 and E9.3, paid leave may be granted to an employee to attend an interview or medical examination in connection with the enlistment of the employee in a Reserve Force of the Defence Force.
