Departmental Stewards. The Union, in addition to the Shop Committee, shall be represented by Departmental Stewards who shall be employees of the Company, having completed their probationary period, and shall be chosen by and from members of the Union on a basis of one (1) Xxxxxxx for each Supervisor, with the assurance of a minimum of one (1) Xxxxxxx for each work shift scheduled by the Company. In the application of the above, it is agreed, the Union shall be entitled to a Xxxxxxx for each designated Department or group of Departments.

Departmental Stewards. The Union shall be represented at Step 1 of the Grievance Procedure by departmental stewards. The jurisdiction of a departmental xxxxxxx shall be limited to the processing of complaints in the area which they serve as a xxxxxxx. Each departmental xxxxxxx shall be employed in the area which they serve as a xxxxxxx. No employee shall be represented by more than one (1) departmental xxxxxxx.
Departmental Stewards. 18.1 A Departmental Xxxxxxx is a person from the department elected or appointed by the Union to represent the employees of the Department in which they are employed. 18.2 The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to elect or appoint Departmental Stewards to assist employees in the presentation of their grievances to their immediate Foreperson or Supervisor. 18.3 The Union acknowledges (a) that Departmental Stewards, as well as other members of the Union's Committees and the Union's officers, will continue to perform their regular duties on behalf of the Employer, and (b) that such persons as are described in paragraph (a) of this section will not leave their regular duties with the Employer to assist in the Grievance Procedure without obtaining prior permission from their Foreperson or Supervisor who in all cases is to be given a reasonable explanation for the requested absence, and (c) that, notwithstanding paragraph (b) of this section, not more than one of the persons described in paragraph (a) of this section plus the grievor are to leave their duties with the Employer to assist at any one stage in the Grievance Procedure, and (d) when such persons as are described in paragraph (a) of this section resume their regular duties after assisting in the Grievance Procedure such persons are to report immediately on such resumption to their Foreperson or Supervisor. 18.4 Subject to the provisions of section 16.3, a Departmental Xxxxxxx will assist in the Grievance Procedure as set forth in section 16.2 except that in the absence of the Departmental Xxxxxxx the Chairperson of the Grievance Committee may act in their place. 18.5 Time lost by a Departmental Xxxxxxx or Chairperson of the Grievance Committee during their normal hours of work as set out in Article 5 shall not disqualify them, if they had permission under section 18.3 to be absent to assist in the Grievance Procedure, for premium rates under Article 5 if they would have been otherwise entitled. 18.6 The Union shall notify, in writing, the Director of Labour Relations, of the name of each Departmental Xxxxxxx and the Department they represent before the Employer is required to recognize the Departmental Xxxxxxx.
Departmental Stewards. 25.1 A Department Xxxxxxx is a person elected or appointed by the Union members of their department, or sub-department to represent the employees of the department, or sub-department, in which they are employed. 25.2 The Employer acknowledges the right of the union to elect one xxxxxxx per shift in each department or sub-department to assist employees in the presentation of their grievances to their xxxxxxx/woman or immediate supervisor. 25.3 The Union acknowledges that Stewards, as well as other members of the Union's Committees and the Union's officers, will continue to perform the irregular duties on behalf of the Employer, and that: (a) such persons (not more than one of the above plus the griever) will not leave their regular duties without obtaining permission from their xxxxxxx/woman or immediate supervisor who will be given a reasonable explanation for the requested absence, and (b) when resuming their regular duties after engaging duties on behalf of the Union the Xxxxxxx will report to their xxxxxxx/woman or supervisor immediately upon their return.
Departmental Stewards. The Union shall appoint up to 12 Stewards to assist employees in presenting and resolving disputes with the employer. The Recording Secretary of the Union shall advise the Employer of the names of Xxxxxxxx appointed and the work areas they represent.
