Disability Allowances. (a) Except as otherwise provided in this clause, the annual base salaries prescribed in this Agreement incorporate a commuted allowance which is in full substitution for all disability allowances and other special rates and provisions.
Disability Allowances. 7.6.2.1 A disability allowance in addition to the weekly rate of pay shall be payable to designated employees to compensate for the special disabilities associated with the nature of duties performed by outdoor staff. 7.6.2.2 This allowance shall be paid at the rates set out in the Allowances Table of this Agreement and shall be paid for all purposes of the Agreement but shall not attract any penalty. The following employees shall be entitled to be paid the allowance: 7.6.2.2.1 Staff who are team leaders or below working in positions where the disability allowance is appropriate should generally receive the allowance. Team leaders in these positions may also be referred to as leading hands or supervising tradesmen within our organisation. Excepting staff engaged in the following functions: • administration • civic centre, recreation and theatre • community services • finance • garbage, sanitary and sullage • managing saleyards • noxious plant inspectionnoxious weeds staff • ordinance control • ordinance inspectors • overseers • public relations • storekeepers • technical services • works supervisor And also some specific employees who have been exempted from receiving the allowance because of position and historical reasons. 7.6.2.3 All employees classified as Team Leaders or below who are employed in garbage, sanitary and sullage collection work or engaged at garbage tips, in street sweeping and in cleaning offensive materials from gutters or storm water drains, shall in addition to their weekly rate of pay, be paid a disability allowance at the rate set out in the Allowances Table of this Agreement. This allowance shall be paid for all purposes of the Agreement but shall not attract any penalty. 7.6.2.4 The disability allowance is to compensate for the special disabilities associated with the hours worked and the offensive, filthy and obnoxious nature of duties performed by employees engaged in this work.
Disability Allowances. The disability allowances in clause 9.3 shall be paid irrespective of the times at which the work is performed, and shall not be subject to any premium or penalty additions. Where an allowance is to be paid to compensate for a disability, such as hot work, cold work, working at heights etc, unless otherwise specifically provided for in this Agreement, the allowance shall only be paid for such time as the person is exposed to the disability. Where more than one of the disability allowances provides payments for disabilities of substantially the same nature, then only the highest of such rates shall be payable unless otherwise provided.
Disability Allowances. The over-award rates contain an allowance as a general disability allowance in lieu of all Award disability payments.

Disability Allowances. Employees will, in addition to the rates elsewhere prescribed by this award, be paid the following special allowances but such special allowances will not be subject to penalty rates for overtime, Sunday or holiday pay or work:
Disability Allowances. The following rates, which have been indexed to the salary increases provided by this Agreement, will apply to Disability Allowances. Per Hour Yr 1 Per Hour Yr 2 Per Hour Yr 3 0.48 0.50 0.52 a. Climatic conditions when working in the open on all types of work; b. The physical disadvantages of having to climb stairs or ladders; c. Dust blowing in the wind on building sites; d. Sloppy and muddy conditions associated with the initial stages of the erection of the building; e. Dirty conditions caused by the use of form oil or from green timber; f. Drippings from newly poured concrete; g. The disability of working on all types of scaffolds, other than a single plank swing scaffold or a bosun's chair; and h. The lack of the usual amenities associated with factory work (e.g. recreational facilities, sanitary conveniences, etc.). This allowance will form part of the weekly salary in the calculation of overtime payments, annual leave pay, public holiday pay, sick pay and long service leave pay. Building construction work will include all classes of work carried out during the construction of new buildings, the construction of additions to existing buildings, and the necessary alteration of existing buildings, to make them conform to any new additions, and the demolition of buildings. Toxic substances will include epoxy based materials and all materials which include or require the addition of a catalyst hardener and reactive additives or (two) 2 pack catalyst system will be deemed to be materials of a like nature.

Disability Allowances. 16.1.1 If significant disabilities occur for a period of two weeks or more because of construction, reconstruction, alteration, major repair or other like work at or in the immediate vicinity of the premises in which the employees are required to work, the employees may claim the allowances prescribed in Subclauses 16.1.2 and 16.1.3 of this Agreement to be paid from the date of the claim. 16.1.2 If the construction work involves excessive fumes, noise and dust through construction vehicles, drilling, electric saws and ▇▇▇▇ hammering, form work and concrete pours, an allowance of 0.12% per hour calculated on the basic salary will apply. 16.1.3 If the construction work involves noise and dust to a limited degree due to alterations, and/or the removal or installation of plant and machinery and a marked reduction in work space an allowance of 0.066% per hour calculated on the basic salary will apply.
Disability Allowances. Allowances contained within this clause with a dollar value will increase by 4.5% on 1 October 2009.
