Emergency Sick Leave Fund. (i) After completion of the regular probationary period, sick leave shall be allowed and credited to the Emergency Sick Leave Fund on the basis of one (1) working day per employee per year, to be used for the benefit of employees whose regular sick leave has been expended. Benefits may be granted on the recommendation of the executive of the Union according to the following schedule, provided sufficient days are on credit in the fund: Years of Employment Days of Leave During the first to fifth year 5 During the sixth to tenth year 15 During the eleventh to fifteenth year 30 During the sixteenth to twentieth year 50 During the twenty-first year 70

Such sick leave will be used for the benefit of employees whose regular sick leave has been expended. This fund shall be administered by the Union.
Emergency Sick Leave Fund. As described in the collective agreements, members may be eligible for participation in an emergency sick leave fund administered by their union. This fund provides benefits to employees who are off on medical leave and, use up all their paid sick leave. Members should contact their Union Executive directly for information on eligibility and enrollment.

  • Sick Leave Pool is intended to provide security after all other insurance benefits have been exhausted, by allowing employees to buy insurance for extended illness, or other disability. When "buying" pool days, employees convert earned days on a one (1) to three (3) basis. Similar to purchasing insurance, the employee may pick a given number of days to exchange for coverage in case of extended disability. Pool days are available for use only under the conditions listed below, and are not eligible for payout at retirement or termination.

  • Sick Leave Accrual Full-time employees will accrue eight (8) hours of sick leave in a calendar month. Part- time employees will accrue sick leave credit on the same proportional basis that their employment schedule bears to a full-time schedule, up to a maximum of eight (8) hours in a calendar month.
