EXTENSIVE OVERNIGHT ABSENCES Clause Samples
EXTENSIVE OVERNIGHT ABSENCES. The intent of this provision is to recognize and provide additional vacation to compensate for the disruption and inconvenience resulting from extensive occurrences of overnight absences from home. Overnight absences in excess of twenty (20) per calendar year will be credited towards additional vacation days as described below.
EXTENSIVE OVERNIGHT ABSENCES.
41.01 An employee required to work away from Home Base who experiences extensive overnight absences, regardless of the reason, qualifies for additional vacation Days, based on the number of overnight absences that take place in a calendar year, as follows: 30 overnight absences 1 Day 40 overnight absences 1 additional Day (total of 2) 50 overnight absences 1 additional Day (total of 3) 60 overnight absences 1 additional Day (total of 4) 70 overnight absences 1 additional Day (total of 5) 80 overnight absences 1 additional Day (total of 6) 90 overnight absences 1 additional Day (total of 7) 100 overnight absences 1 additional Day (total of 8) 110 overnight absences 2 additional Days (total of 10).
41.02 Overnight absences related to classroom instruction for apprenticeship training programs do not count towards the entitlement in Clause 41.01.
41.03 Vacation Days earned under Article 41 will be added to the employee’s vacation entitlement for the following calendar year.
41.04 The employee has the option to receive pay in lieu of additional vacation earned under this article.

47.02 Overnight absences related to classroom instruction for apprenticeship and power engineering training programs and examinations do not count towards the entitlement in clause 47.01.
47.03 Vacation earned under Article 47.00 will be added to the employee’s vacation entitlement for the following calendar year.
47.04 The employee has the option to receive pay in lieu of additional vacation earned under this article.
EXTENSIVE OVERNIGHT ABSENCES. 41.01 Employees who are required to spend extensive overnight absences from Home Base will qualify for additional days of vacation as noted in this article.
41.02 The additional vacation will be based on overnight absences that occur in a calendar year as follows:
a) 40 overnight absences 1 day b) 50 overnight absences 1 additional day (total of 2) c) 60 overnight absences 1 additional day (total of 3) d) 70 or more overnight absences 1 additional day (total of 4)
41.03 Overnight absences that are related to training or meetings do not count towards the totals in 41.02.
41.04 Additional vacation earned under this article will be added to vacation for the following calendar year.

EXTENSIVE OVERNIGHT ABSENCES. The intent of this provision is to recognize the disruption and inconvenience resulting from extensive occurrences of overnight absences from home. Employees who have accumulated in excess of eighty (80) overnight absences per calendar year will be paid a one-time lump sum of $500/year in first quarter of the following year. If the employee has accumulated in excess of one-hundred and twenty (120) nights in the same calendar year, an additional $500 will be paid for total of $1000.
