FIRE WATCH DUTY. Whenever any private person or organization is required to, or shall seek the service of the employees of the Fire Department, for Fire Department duties, such work shall be rotated by the Fire Chief among those employees who volunteer for such work during their off duty hours. Such employee(s) shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the Shift Captain’s pay rate, rounded up to the nearest dollar, per hour with a minimum of four (4) hours for such duty. Such Fire Watch Duty Details shall be paid to the employee via the Town’s bi-weekly payroll, and shall be billed through the Town’s Detail Billing Program. All details performed on a holiday as per Article 20 (A) of this agreement, are to be paid and billed out at two times the Shift Captain’s pay rate rounded up to the nearest dollar, per hour with a minimum of four (4) hours for such duty. Shift strength shall not be reduced to provide fire watch services for any private person or organization, except in the case of emergency.
FIRE WATCH DUTY. Section 1 Whenever any person or organization is required to or shall seek the services of a Firefighter, Lieutenant or Assistant Chief for Fire Watch Duty, such work shall be assigned by the Chief of the Department to off duty employees in the bargaining unit and the assignments shall be rotated among such employees on an equitable basis. If there are no employees in the bargaining unit available for this Fire Watch, the Town may assign persons outside the bargaining unit to fill such assignments. When the assignment requires more than three (3) employees, one such employee shall be placed in charge of the detail and such employee will receive one dollar ($1.00) an hour in addition to the rates herein provided.
FIRE WATCH DUTY. 28:1 Whenever any private person or organization is required to or shall seek the services of the employees of the Fire Department for fire watch duty, such work shall be rotated by the Chief of the Fire Department among those employees who volunteer for such work during their off duty hours. The rate of pay for such work shall be one and one-half (1½) the employee's regular hourly rate, except when said watch is performed for the City of Bristol, the rate shall be the employee's regular hourly rate for the first four (4) hours and one and one- half (1½) the employee's regular rate thereafter, however, should other City employees be receiving premium pay for said fire watch then Firefighters shall also be paid at one and one- half (1½) their regular hourly rate.

Employee may be removed from this list at his/her request. One fire watch list of all employees shall be created from those who notify the Chief of their desire to be on this list. 2240 When in the judgment of the Chief or his designee a full fire suppression company is needed for a private fire watch, the staffing shall be based on minimum staffing of (1) Officer and (3) Fire Fighters and shall be hired for a minimum of four (4) hours at one and one half (1.5) times their regular hourly rate. The next available and qualified employees shall be offered the assignment. 2250 When in the judgment of the Chief or his designee a fire watch is necessary for one employee at a time, the next available and qualified employee on the fire watch list shall be offered the assignment. The rate of pay for this work shall be time and one• half (1 1/2) the employee's regular hourly rate of pay, with a minimum of four (4) hours pay. Company strength shall not be reduced to provide fire watch services for any private person or organization.
FIRE WATCH DUTY. When a permit to allow demolition burning or controlled burning is granted by the Chief of the Fire Department or any other person authorized to do so, to any person or firm engaged in such burning, or whenever any person or organization is required to or shall seek the services of Employees of the Fire Department for Fire Watch Duty, such work shall be rotated by the Chief of the Fire Department among those Employees who volunteer for such work during their off- duty hours. No such assignment shall be made until the person or organization requesting service has agreed to pay the rates that the UNION has agreed upon with the Chief of the Fire Department.
FIRE WATCH DUTY. Rate of pay shall be $43.00 per hour for private details and $40.00 per hour for Town work. Whenever any private person or organization is required to, or shall seek the services of employees of The Fire Department for fire watch duty, such work shall be rotated among these employees who volunteer for such work during their off duty hours. A detail will consist of a minimum of four hours. All details performed on a Holiday that is covered in this agreement shall be compensated at one and one half times (1 1/2 ) the detail rate. Any detail over four (4) hours shall be paid a minimum of eight (8) hours for that detail. Any detail that exceeds eight (8) hours shall be paid at one and one half (1 1/2) times the detail rate. Any additional portion of an hour worked shall be considered a full hour. The time compensated shall include time sufficient to dry hoses, and clean all equipment used by the firefighters on the detail. This work shall not be considered as a basis for overtime pay by the town.

Additional hours beyond the four (4) hour minimum shall be paid in two (2) hour increments thereafter. Company strength shall not be reduced to provide fire watch services for any private persons, entity, or organization.
