First Source Hiring Agreement Sample Clauses

A First Source Hiring Agreement is a contractual provision that requires an employer or contractor to give priority to a designated group—often local residents or specific community members—when hiring for new positions. In practice, this means the employer must notify a specified agency or workforce center about job openings and consider candidates referred by that source before seeking applicants elsewhere. The core function of this clause is to promote local employment opportunities and ensure that economic benefits from a project or contract are shared with the surrounding community.

The duration of the first source interviewing requirement shall be determined by the FSHA and shall be set forth in each agreement, but shall not exceed 10 days.
