Float Pool Nurses. The Medical Center shall maintain a separate 21 however the Critical Care Float Pool RNs will support units in both campuses 22 (RiverBend Emergency Department; OHVI 4, the Intermediate Care Unit and the 23 University District Emergency Department). Float pool unit nurses may be 24 required to orient to up to four nursing units within their first year in the float pool 25 after such time they may request to orient to additional units at either campus 26 upon need and approval of the Float Pool Manager or designee. Nurses will be 27 required to maintain competency in each unit in which they work and will be 28 scheduled in those units to maintain skills. 30 Positions will be posted with designation for University District, RiverBend 31 or Critical Care Float Pool.
1 The Medical Center will make best efforts to minimize floating between 2 RiverBend and University District. Float Pool Nurses shall be utilized to staff 3 their designated campus prior to being utilized to fill holes in staffing at the other 4 campus. If there are no staffing needs at their designated campus and a need 5 arises, the manager will seek volunteers. If there are no volunteers, the Medical 6 Center shall assign based on competency and an equitable rotation. The 7 rotation plan shall be developed by the Float Pool UBC. For each unit to which a 8 Float Pool Nurse is required to orient, the nurse will receive sufficient orientation 9 to allow the nurse to have the documented competencies and skills required to 10 provide direct care to patients on the unit. The provisions of Section 8.9.1 apply 11 equally to Float Pool Unit Nurses. 13 Float Pool Nurses may participate in both float pool and unit specific staff 14 meetings and in services and will be paid for their time.
Float Pool Nurses. A nurse assigned to the float pool will be paid a differential of one dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25).

Float Pool Nurses. Float Pool RNs do not have a home unit and are assigned, as needed, to whatever unit needs assistance. Float Pool Nurses are expected to be able to carry a full patient care load on these units. Nurses assigned to the Float Pool shall receive a premium of three dollars ($3.00) per hour, which shall be included in their normal rate of pay. Float Pool Nurses will be assigned to units having patients for which they are competent to care. Float Pool Nurses will receive training and orientation appropriate to the assignment as necessary prior to taking a full patient assignment similar to other nurses in the unit.
Float Pool Nurses. 28 For purposes of low census HCD rotation only, Float Pool nurses will be 29 assigned a home unit and will participate in low census HCD rotation in 30 that unit only.
