Functions of Tenure Review Committees. A. A tenure review committee will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the probationer until she or he is granted tenure or until the probationary faculty appointment is non- renewed. The tenure review committee will observe the progress of the probationer for the purpose of recommending tenure, extension of probation, or non- renewal. In the performance of this function, the committee may request information from other members of the administrative unit, from the probationer's students, and from supervisors relative to the probationer's performance of assigned duties. B. The recommendations of a tenure review committee may be referred for ratification to the tenured members of the administrative unit. This procedure will also be used at the discretion of the committee or at the request of the campus president. C. The tenure review committee for a probationer will be formed during the first quarter of probationary status.

If the unit does not establish criteria, the unit administrator may establish the necessary criteria for evaluation of a probationer. The criteria must be reviewed and discussed by the tenure review committee and may be revised to fit the needs of an individual probationer by the agreement of the committee. b. The tenure review committee will be responsible for furnishing the probationer with appropriate performance criteria and objectives in written form, to include the methods of performance evaluation to be used. The committee will hold a minimum of one (1) quarterly review conference with the probationer. The substance of these conferences will be recorded in written form and will be forwarded through administrative channels to the appropriate vice- president or campus president. Observed areas needing improvement should be put in writing and discussed in conference as soon as possible. A professional improvement plan intended to address these areas must be developed and reviewed by the committee. Both the committee and the probationer must be aware that the primary purpose of the committee, in addition to monitoring and evaluation, is to assist the probationer in meeting the requirements of assigned duties and in fulfilling the object...

  • Joint Committees 1101 Release Time (a) Basic pay or equivalent time off, with a minimum of one (1) hour guaranteed to nurses who are not on duty, will be granted to nurses appointed by the Union to attend meetings of the Union Management Committee and any other Facility joint committee to which the Union is required to appoint representatives. (b) All reasonable efforts will be made to relieve a nurse who is appointed to attend meetings of the Union Management Committee, Nursing Advisory Committee or any other facility joint committee to which the Union is required to appoint representatives, without loss of salary or benefits. This clause is applicable when the meeting(s) occurs during hours the nurse is otherwise scheduled to work. 1102 Union Management Committee The Employer and the Union agree to establish and maintain a Union Management Committee consisting of not less than two (2) persons appointed by each of the parties. Management representatives shall include the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing; Union representatives shall include the President and/or Vice-President of the Local. Appointments shall be made for a term of one (1) year but without limit on the number of consecutive terms a member may serve. The Committee shall meet at the request of either party subject to five (5) days notice being given but not less than bi-monthly unless otherwise mutually agreed.   • Subcommittees Unless otherwise provided in the Certificate of Incorporation, these bylaws or the resolutions of the Board designating the committee, a committee may create one (1) or more subcommittees, each subcommittee to consist of one (1) or more members of the committee, and delegate to a subcommittee any or all of the powers and authority of the committee.

  • Review Committee A Committee of six members, three each from the Guild and shall be named. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be put before this Committee for resolution. When the Committee is unable to resolve an issue it is agreed that a third party will be named by mutual agreement of the parties to provide Arbitration for binding resolution. Failing such an appointment by the Committee either party may refer it to arbitration under Article of the Collective Agreement.

  • Sub-Committees 15.1 The Joint Committee shall establish the membership and terms of reference for any sub-committees or sub-groups which it establishes and may dissolve such sub-committees or sub-groups. Sub-committees to which the Joint Committee delegates functions are bound by the provisions of this Agreement regulating the taking of decisions by the Joint Committee. The Joint Committee may create additional sub-committees from time to time as it sees fit.

  • LABOR/MANAGEMENT COMMITTEES A. Statewide

  • Nurse Representatives & Grievance Committee (a) The Hospital agrees to recognize Association representatives to be elected or appointed from amongst nurses in the bargaining unit for the purpose of dealing with Association business as provided in this Collective Agreement. The number of representatives and the areas which they represent are set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. (b) The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee, one of whom shall be chair. This committee shall operate and conduct itself in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Agreement and the number of nurses on the Grievance Committee is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. (c) It is agreed that Union representatives and members of the Grievance Committee have their regular duties and responsibilities to perform for the Hospital and shall not leave their regular duties without first obtaining permission from their immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. If, in the performance of their duties, a union representative or member of the Grievance Committee is required to enter a unit within the hospital in which they are not ordinarily employed they shall, immediately upon entering such unit, report their presence to the supervisor or nurse in charge, as the case may be. When resuming their regular duties and responsibilities, such representatives shall again report to their immediate supervisor. The Hospital agrees to pay for all time spent during their regular hours by such representatives hereunder.
