FUtfERAL LEAVE. Any Paraprofessional who is absent on account of death in the immediate family of the Paraprofessional or his/her spouse, parent, husband, wife, child, brother, sister, grandparent, grnndchild or any member of the family residing in the same house, shall be excused without loss of pay for a period of five (5) days and one (I) day for an uncle, aunt, niece or nephew.

FUtfERAL LEAVE. Funeral leave shall be granted to full-time and part time employees (not on leave ofabsence) who have completed their probationary period. Full time employees shall be granted three (3) days (24 hours) leave without loss ofpay in the event ofdeath in the immediate family (parents, step-parents, siblings, children, step-children, spouse, parents-in-law), and one (1) day (8 hours) leave without loss ofpay in the event of death of a grandparent, grandchild, sister-in-law or brother-in-law. Part-time employees will receive a prorated benefit based on the number ofbenefit hours paid in the past six (6) months. Additional time off shall be provided upon request.

  • General Leave Notwithstanding any provision for leave in this Agreement, the Employer may grant a leave of absence without pay to an employee requesting leave for an emergency or other unusual circumstances. A leave of absence may also be granted for any other reason in which case approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. All requests and approvals for leave shall be in writing. Upon request, the Employer will give reasons orally for withholding approval.

  • General Leaves When no other leaves are available, a leave of absence may be granted to an employee on a paid or unpaid basis at any time upon any terms acceptable to the District and an employee.

  • Funeral Leave Section 30.1 In the event of the death of a parent, spouse, child, sister, brother, mother-in- law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent of the Employee or spouse, grandchild of the Employee, or “xxxxxx” or “step” situations within these relationships, the Employee shall be allowed a leave of absence with pay of two (2) consecutive (eight or ten hour) workdays.

  • Cultural Leave Where such leave is approved by the employer, teachers participating in recognised cultural activities within New Zealand or outside New Zealand are entitled to leave with pay on the same conditions as for sports leave.

  • Legal Leave 19.12.1The University shall grant leave of absence with pay to a member of faculty who is called to serve as a juror or a witness in a court of law in a matter in which he/she is not a party or an accused.
