GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND RULES. 12:01 The Company shall not require any employee covered by this Agreement to work from his regular starting time less than four (4) or more than four and one-half (4 1/2) consecutive hours at any time without a minimum of at least one-half (1/2) hour or a maximum of one (1) hour off work, whichever is applicable. 12:02 A thirty (30) minute paid meal period shall commence not earlier than four (4) hours after the employee's regular starting time and shall be completed by 1:30 p.m. Should the meal extend beyond 1:30 p.m., at the request of the Company, the employee shall be entitled to an additional one-half (1/2) hour to be added to his time for the day. The meal period shall be taken. There shall be a meal period midshift the second and third shifts where these shifts are applicable. For early starts the midshift meal period shall be scheduled from the regular starting time. 12:03 Where overtime preceding or following his normal shift accumulates beyond two (2) hours overtime, the employee shall be entitled to a meal expense of five dollars ($5.00) to cover the cost of the meal. If engaged in work after his meal, the time spent eating such meal (not to exceed thirty (30) minutes) shall be considered as time worked. This provision shall be repeated each four (4) hours. 12:04 Where an employee is called in early and works more than one (1) hour but not exceeding two (2) hours overtime prior to his regular starting time, he shall be entitled to a ten (10) minute coffee break at his regular starting time.

GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND RULES. ‌ 12:01 The meal break shall not commence before two (2) hours from the employee's starting time or commence later than six (6) hours from the employee's starting time. Employees not receiving a meal period between the designated times will be compensated for one-half (½) hour at time and one-half (1½) their base rate of pay. 12:02 In keeping with the Canada Labour Standards, a Safety Committee shall be established, consisting of at least one (1) member from within the bargaining unit and one (1) member of management. The committee shall meet every month or earlier if required to discuss and recommend on safety matters and to promote a co-operative interest in the safety of the work force. Copies of the minutes of said meetings shall be forwarded to the Union and posted on the bulletin board. In conjunction with the Safety Meetings, the Company and the Union will conduct joint industrial relations meetings on a quarterly basis to deal with operational issues not addressed by the Collective Agreement. This is not intended to preclude either party from processing grievances/issues on a timely basis as required and these meetings are not part of the grievance procedure. The Company shall allow a maximum of one day off with pay per year to any employee who is an active member of the joint Health and Safety Committee at ASIG, to attend approved Health and Safety training sessions. Requests for time off must not interfere with the proper operations of the business and provided one week’s written notice is given to the Company by the applicable employee specifying the date and proposed course to be taken.
GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND RULES. Meal and Work Breaks: 12:01 A half (½ ) hour meal break will be taken approximately midway in each shift. The Company will not require any employee covered by this Agreement to work more than four and one-half (4 ½ ) consecutive hours at any time without such half (½ ) hour meal break. 12:02 Should the meal period not be taken at the request of the Company, then the employee shall be entitled to an additional half hour (1/2) to be added to his time for the day. 12:03 Where overtime preceding or following the employee's normal shift goes beyond two (2) consecutive hours, the employee shall be paid six dollars ($6.00) to cover the cost of the meal. The time spent eating such meal shall not exceed thirty (30) minutes and shall be considered as time worked if engaged in production work after his meal. 12:04 Should overtime continue beyond four (4) hours following the time allowed for a meal break, then a further meal break shall be allowed with the same conditions as outlined above. 12:05 This condition shall be repeated each four (4) hours. 12:06 A coffee break shall be allowed each employee of the Company as close to midway of the first half of the shift and as close to midway in the second half of the shift as possible. Time allowed for coffee breaks shall be fifteen (15) minutes each, and shall be staggered in order to allow continuous plant operation. If overtime is to be worked at end of shift in excess of thirty (30) minutes, the employee having to work shall be given fifteen (15) minutes coffee break before commencing overtime. 12:07 The Company shall establish or continue during the term of this Agreement a Labour Management Committee, which shall meet during working hours, at least once each month. A senior representative of management, or his delegate, shall attend these meetings. 12:08 The Company shall establish or continue a Safety Committee of which management personnel shall not outnumber Union members. This Committee may meet in conjunction with the Labour Management Committee and shall operate as required by the Workers' Compensation Board regulations. 12:09 Whenever the Company or the Workers' Compensation Act regulations require equipment to be used on the job, such equipment shall be provided by the Company at no cost to the employee. The employee shall be held responsible for such equipment and shall be charged for any damage or loss for which he can reasonably be held responsible. 12:10 Drivers or operators shall not be required to opera...

GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND RULES. Occupational Health and Safety Meetings: 8:01 The Employer shall establish or continue an Occupational Health and Safety Committee on which management personnel shall not out number Union members. This Committee shall operate as required by the WorkSafeBC and WCB Alberta regulations. 8:02 A leave of absence may be granted at the reasonable discretion of the Employer and the Union. All applications for leave of absence shall be made in writing. All applications will be replied to in writing and a copy of such shall be provided to the Union. During the leave of absence, Employees must maintain payment of their Union dues and assessments.

The Resident Manager or their delegate, shall act as Chairman. The Committee shall meet for one-half hour once each two (2) months to discuss and recommend on safety matters and to promote a co-operative interest in the safety of the work force. Whenever the Company or the Workers’ Compensation Act regulations require equipment to be worn on the job, such equipment shall be provided by the Company at no cost to the employee.
