Grouting. The Contractor shall, where so ordered, carry out a site test for each grouting procedure. The tests shall be carried out on a dummy bedplate similar in configuration to that which is to be grouted, but not exceeding 1 m2 in area unless otherwise ordered. When the dummy bedplate is dismantled, the underside shall show a minimum grout contact area of 80% with reasonably even distribution of the grout over the surface grouted except that, in the case of expanding grout, the minimum grout contact area shall be 95%. The test shall show evidence of good workmanship and materials and the results shall be to the satisfaction of the Engineer. The Contractor shall, when so ordered, make standard test cubes from various grout mixtures and also subject them to compression tests to determine whether the specified strength has been achieved. Test procedures shall comply with the relevant requirements of Sub-clauses 7.2.1 to 7.2.3.
Grouting. Remove oil, rust inhibitors, residual drilling fluids and similar foreign materials from holding tanks/hoppers, stirring devices, pumps, lines, tremie pipes and any other equipment in contact with grout before use. Inject grout at the lowest point of drill holes through tremies, e.g., grout tubes, casings, hollow-stem augers or drill rods, in one continuous operation. Fill drill holes progressively from ends of holes to excavation faces and withdraw tremies at a slow even rate as holes are filled to prevent voids in grout. Extend tremies into grout at least 5 ft at all times except when grout is initially placed in holes. Provide grout free of segregation, intrusions, contamination, structural damage or inadequate consolidation (honeycombing). Cold joints in grout are not allowed except for test nails. Remove any temporary casings as grout is placed and record grout volume for each drill hole.
Grouting. 1. Grouting of the annular space around the rock dowel by tremie grouting methods (using sufficient pressure to overcome the hydrostatic head) after the bar is in- place, using a portable grout pump.
2. Xxxxxx working capacity shall be at least 10 gallons.
3. Grout dowels until there is a full return of grout around the rock dowel, as observed by the RE.
4. Ensure all grout pipes, tubes and fittings are clean and free from dirt, grease, hardened grout, or other contamination before grouting is commenced for any dowel.
Grouting. A. Grout space between casing pipes and outside of drilled hole in accordance with AWWA A100.
B. Allow grout to cure at least 72 hours for Type I portland cement or 36 hours for Type Ill portland cement before further work is performed on well.
X. Xxxxx shall be placed in one continuous operation. All grout shall be pumped through a grouting shoe at bottom of casing or by use of a tremie pipe and may only be discontinued when grout completely fills void between casing pipe and drilled hole at top of pipe. Grout shall be a minimum thickness of 2-inches on all sides of the casing pipe.
D. Temporary casing pipe not meeting specifications for permanent casing shall be pulled during grouting.
Grouting. A. Grouting of ground anchors shall comply with PTI DC35.1.
Grouting. A. Grouting of micropiles shall comply with FHWA-NHI-05-039
B. Grouting of the drill hole after the installation of the steel bar shall be completed within two hours of completion of drilling and shall be done in one continuous operation. Cold joints in the grout column shall not be permitted.
C. The grout shall be free of lumps and undispersed cement.
D. Admixtures, if used, shall be mixed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
E. The compressive strength of micropile grout shall be tested in accordance with ASTM C109 at a frequency of no less than one test for every 5 cubic meters of grout placed. Irrespective of the volume of grout placed, a minimum of one test shall be performed on a set of grout cubes from each grout plant on each day of operation.
F. The grouting equipment shall be sized to enable the grout to be pumped in one continuous operation.
1. The mixer shall be capable of continuously agitating the grout.
2. The grout shall be placed within one hour of mixing.
G. A positive displacement grout pump shall be used.
1. The pump shall be equipped with a pressure gauge to monitor grout pressure. A second pressure gauge shall be placed at the point of injection at the micropile top.
2. The pressure gauges shall be capable of measuring pressures of a least 1.0 MPa or twice the actual grout pressures required, whichever is greater.
Grouting. A. Mix grout in accordance with the approved manufacturer’s instructions to a consistency which will permit placement. Place grout so as to ensure complete bearing and elimination of air pockets.
Grouting. All costs of labor and equipment and tools required to chemical grout Special Manhole 7D-017. Work shall include, but not limited to clean and prepare interior surface of existing manhole, seal all active leaks, install the chemical grout and do all things necessary or required for grouting existing manhole as indicated on the Contract Documents.
Grouting. Cementitious grouting material shall be injected starting from the furthest point of the drilled hole so that the dowel is completely encased in grout. Grout shall not be used after a period equivalent to its initial setting time. Where cement grout is used, a set of six cubes of cement grout shall be taken when each series of rock dowels is in progress. Sampling, preparation, curing and testing shall be in accordance with BS EN 196. Half the cubes shall be tested at 1 day and the remainder at 28 days. The average compressive strength determined from any group of cubes shall exceed the specified characteristic strength given in Table 2 of EN 197-1:2000 or equivalent Indian Standard. - contact or cavity grouting, at pressures up to 300 kPa, to fill voids between final concrete lining and primary sprayed concrete lining, or between the primary lining and rock - consolidation grouting or strata grouting, at pressures up to 6 MPa, of the rock surrounding the excavated space, which shall commence after completion of contact grouting, where applied - consolidation grouting or strata grouting in the heading zone, at pressures up to 6 MPa, in zones of sheared and disturbed material or of high-water inflow - final grouting of temporary drainage holes The Contractor shall prepare a detailed grouting Specification to suit best the actual conditions encountered. This grouting specification shall be submitted to the Employer’s Representative for approval unless otherwise agreed or directed by the Employer’s Representative. The Tunnel Designer’s Representative shall specify the maximum pressures to be used for grout injection at each location. The pressures specified are subject to approval by the Employer’s Representative. Records of all details of grouting works such as location, inclination, diameter of boreholes, drilling time, equipment used, results of water pressure tests, mix, quantity, pressure of grouting, development and special events during grouting operation etc. shall be kept by the Contractor, countersigned on site by the Employer’s supervising personnel and submitted to the Employer’s Representative. Where necessary due to the nature of the ground conditions or where adverse water conditions are anticipated, the requirements for the use of special grouts shall be stated in the Contract. Special grouts supplied by proprietary manufacturers may be used subject to agreement with the Employer’s Representative. Preconstruction grout trials shall be undertake...
