Health and Safety Representative Training. 5.1 The Employer shall permit health and safety representatives to take such time off work with pay as is necessary or prescribed to attend occupational health and safety training courses approved by the Victorian WorkCover Authority.

Health and Safety Representative Training. 120.9.1 When attending an approved course, health and safety representatives shall be paid their normal/expected earnings during course attendance, including pay entitlements relating to shift work, regular overtime, higher duties, allowances or penalty rates that would have applied had the health and safety representative been at work.
Health and Safety Representative Training. Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Deputy HSRs have the right under Comcare laws and/or regulations to undertake paid time training to assist them to effectively undertake their role in the workplace. Such training must be recognised as relevant for HSRs under Comcare laws and/or regulations. HSRs may have a preference as to which accredited HSR training course they attend. This may be based on individual learning styles, location of the course or previous experience with the training provider. The Company shall discuss the choice of course with the relevant HSRs to determine suitability. The Company may present proposals for such training for the HSR representatives and deputy representatives to consider.
Health and Safety Representative Training. Each elected H&S representative will be required to attend an ACC/CTU Stage 1 Health and Safety workshop. If there is no CTU workshop available then the training will be carried out in a workshop agreed to between the representative and their manager. The training will take place within 6 months of the election of the reps. Each elected health and safety representative is entitled to two days paid leave per year to attend a training course (section 19G of the HSE Act). At least 14 days notice must be given to the employer of the leave required to attend the training, and taking the leave should not be unduly disruptive to the employer’s business.
