Leave of Absence Benefits. When the Chief of Police, the Director of DoE or the Director of Homeland Security, in their discretion, recommend to the County Personnel Officer that a request for leave without pay made by an employee covered by this Agreement be approved, the Chief of Police, the Director of DoE or the Director of Homeland Security, as appropriate, will send to the employee at his/her home address or have hand delivered the letter and form appearing at the back of this contract as Attachment B. The responsibility for making arrangements for benefits while on leave without pay is the employee's.

Leave of Absence Benefits. 27 1. Unit members shall be granted bereavement leave up to a maximum of five (5) days for the 28 death of a member of the immediate family. Members of the immediate family are: mother, 29 father, grandmother, grandfather or a grandchild of the unit member or of the spouse or 30 registered domestic partner of the unit member, and the spouse or registered domestic 31 partner, son, son-in-law, daughter, daughter-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, sister or sister- 32 in-law, step/xxxxxx parent or child of the unit member or any relative living in the immediate 33 household of the unit member.

  • LEAVE OF ABSENCE With respect to the Award, the Company may, in its sole discretion, determine that if you are on leave of absence for any reason you will not be considered as having terminated employment with the Company; however, your rights to the Restricted Stock Units during a leave of absence will be limited to the extent to which those rights were earned or vested when the leave of absence began.

  • Leave of Absences A leave of absence, subject to the College’s discretion may be granted for a minimum of one term’s absence. All requests for a planned leave of absence from the College, for one term or more, must be submitted in writing to the relevant Head of School for approval at least one full term in advance of the commencement of the leave. The request must include the proposed dates of absence and the reason for the absence. The request can be granted only where all Tuition Fees and Charges and any other amounts owing to the College at the time of the request have been paid in full. For an approved leave of absence, 30% of the applicable Tuition Fees will be charged in advance as a holding fee to guarantee re-entry. This is non-refundable and not offset against future Tuition Fees. In addition to the holding fee, the notebook payout fee will be charged to your Family Account. During a leave of absence, the Student will be provided with a broad outline of the curriculum. A leave of absence will not be considered, nor will Tuition Fees or Charges be refunded where schoolwork is still provided, assessed and supervised and/or reports submitted. On a Student’s final day prior to commencing a leave of absence, any College issued device must be returned to the Centre for Computing and Communications (CCC). Should the parent(s) elect to retain the device throughout the leave of absence period, approval must be granted by the Principal. Upon approval, the full payout fee for the device will be charged.

  • Paid Leave of Absence Upon request an employee shall be granted a leave of absence with pay for:

  • SICK LEAVE OF ABSENCE 25.01 Employees, who are permitted to go home due to non- occupational illness or injury, will not be paid for the remainder of their shift.

  • Extended Leave of Absence Professional employees who have attained renewable contract status may request extended leaves of absence for one (1) year without pay under any one of the circumstances listed in this section. All requests for such extended leave of absence will be applied for and granted or rejected in writing. Such application will be reviewed by the principal and superintendent. If the latter approves, he/she will recommend that the leave be granted by the Board. An employee returning from an extended leave will be assigned to the same position as that which he/she held before assuming the leave, providing that position still exists.   • Long Term Leave of Absence The District may grant any employee an unpaid long-term leave of absence for up to one (1) year for study, child rearing, travel, medical, or other mutually agreed to reason(s). Upon Board approval leave may be extended an additional year. Employees granted such a leave shall be permitted to stay on the District insurance programs at their own expense (carriers permitting), shall not gain or lose seniority or other benefits, but shall not be granted advancement credit on the salary schedule for the period of the leave. Upon return from such leave, the employee shall be entitled to the same position or a position substantially equivalent to the position held prior to the leave.

  • MATERNITY LEAVE OF ABSENCE A Maternity Leave of Absence will be granted, subject to the following:

  • Sick Leave During Leave of Absence (F/T) When an Employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not continue to accumulate sick leave and shall not be entitled to receive pay for sickness for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such leave or lay-off.
