Meal Periods and Meals. The meal period provisions below apply to both "On Production" and "Off Production" employees.

Meal Periods and Meals. Employees shall be granted a one-half (½) or one (1) hour uncompensated meal period each work shift. Such meal periods shall be scheduled as close as practicable to the middle of the work day. The County shall furnish a meal (or a $7.50 meal allowance, in lieu thereof), plus a one- half (½) hour uncompensated meal period to any employee who, at the County's request, works three (3) hours beyond their regular work schedule. An additional meal (or $7.50 meal allowance, in lieu thereof), plus one-half (½) hour uncompensated meal period shall be furnished each four (4) hours thereafter. Employees who are away from their regular workplace at meal times may use a County vehicle to stop at restaurants, snack bars, etc., for meals.

Meal Periods and Meals. (a) Meal periods shall be not less than one-half (½) hour nor more than one (1) hour in length. Not more than one meal period shall be deducted from work time for an employee during the minimum call. A second meal period may be deducted from work time for those employees who work in excess of the minimum call. The minimum guarantee of work time after an evening meal shall be one and one-half (1½) hours. This guarantee does not apply when such meal is supplied at the Company’s expense.

The County shall furnish a one-half (½) hour compensated meal period to any employee, who at the County’s request, works three (3) hours beyond their regular quitting time and the employee shall be eligible to receive a meal furnished by the County from the jail kitchen. An additional one-half (½) hour compensated meal period shall be furnished each four (4) hours thereafter and the employee shall be eligible to receive a meal furnished by the County from the jail kitchen. Employees working in the jail shall be eligible to receive a meal, furnished by the County from the jail kitchen, as compensation to the employee for inability to take a meal period away from the work site. It is the responsibility of the employee to schedule his or her meal period at an appropriate time and to coordinate with the Jail Manager, or designee, when it is practical.
