Method of Filling Positions. (A) Except where a vacancy is filled by demoting an employee or by reassignment or lateral action, any person who is to be selected for a position must first have his name placed on the agency’s promotional list in accordance with the criteria set forth in this Article. Upon the employee receiving his copy of the agency promotional list, the employee who wishes to be considered for promotional opportunities shall file with the agency a Request for Promotion Form which shall indicate the broadband level(s) and the county(ies) to which the employee would like to be promoted. The position shall be filled from among the persons having the highest five numerical scores contained on the promotional list who have applied for the position. However, an agency shall have the discretion to fill a position from only the highest five numerical scores of employees contained on the agency’s promotional list. Agencies shall attempt to fill positions in an expeditious manner when operationally feasible. (B) In filling vacancies, the agency will first consider any pending request forms on file for the work area in which the agency need exists. Nothing contained in this agreement shall be construed to prevent an agency from filling a position in a manner meeting the agency’s needs.

Method of Filling Positions. (A) Except where a position is filled by demotion, lateral action, or reassignment as defined in Article 9 of this Agreement, employees who have requested promotion in accordance with Section 2 of this Article shall be given first consideration for promotional positions. Of the employees meeting the selection criteria, up to a maximum of five will be interviewed. Where interviews are done by committee, at least one committee member will be qualified in the particular professional discipline involved. (B) Each employee who requests promotion in accordance with Section 2 of this Article will be notified in writing by the appointing authority when the position has been filled. Upon request, employees will be provided with recommendations regarding areas in which they can improve their potential for future promotional opportunities. (C) When an employee has been promoted pursuant to a request filed under this Article, all other pending requests for promotion from that employee shall be cancelled. No other request may be filed by that employee under this Article for a period of 12 months following the employee’s promotion.

The Director of Food Services will interview all members who apply for said position. The results of the interviews will be reported to the applicants in writing in a timely manner, preferably within two weeks. If none of the interested Food Service members are qualified, the position will then be advertised outside the system. The position will be awarded to the most qualified person.

Method of Filling Positions. (A) The term promotion means the advancement of an employee to a higher paying position. (B) In case of promotion or whenever a new job classification opening or a vacancy occurs other than temporary, the position shall be filled in accordance with Civil Service Rules of Procedure and selections shall be made from the appropriate Civil Service list until the list of names is exhausted. (C) Should a new position or vacancy occur which cannot be filled from an appropriate Civil Service list, the position shall then be posted on all bulletin boards for a period of ten (10) working days stating the job title, pay rate and necessary qualifications for the job. 1) An employee shall apply, in writing, for such position and submit the application to the Bureau of Personnel Services. 2) If the position is to be filled, it shall be filled by the Board within thirty (30) days not including posting time from the date the new classification or vacancy occurs from among employees who have made such application and who are qualified, except that where more than one employee qualifies for the same position, total seniority or job title seniority, in accordance with the most recent examination announcement for this position shall be the determining factor in making the selection. The following procedures will be observed: (a) If the new position or vacancy was announced by the Municipal Civil Service Commission as promotional competitive in nature, job title seniority shall be the seniority factor to be used in making the selection. (b) If the new position or vacancy was announced by the Municipal Civil Service Commission as being open competitive in nature, total seniority shall be the seniority factor to be used in making a selection. (D) The Union shall be notified, by the Board, in writing, within five (5) days of all full time job vacancies caused by resignation, retirement or for "just cause" discharge.

  • Filling Positions ‌ The Employer will determine when a position will be filled, the type of appointment to be used when filling the position, and the skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the specific position within a job classification. When filling a vacant position with a permanent appointment, candidates will be certified for further consideration in the following manner: 1. The most senior candidate on the agency’s internal layoff list with the required skills and abilities who has indicated an appropriate geographic availability will be appointed to the position. 2. If there are no names on the internal layoff list, the agency will certify up to twenty (20) candidates for further consideration. Up to seventy-five percent (75%) of those candidates will be statewide layoff, agency promotional, internal transfers, and agency voluntary demotions. All candidates certified must have the position-specific skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position to be filled. If there is a tie for the last position on the certification for either promotional or other candidates, the agency may consider up to ten

  • Method of Billing Consultant may submit invoices to the City for approval on a progress basis, but no more often than two times a month. Said invoice shall be based on the total of all Consultant’s services which have been completed to City’s sole satisfaction. City shall pay Consultant’s invoice within forty-five (45) days from the date City receives said invoice. Each invoice shall describe in detail, the services performed, the date of performance, and the associated time for completion. Any additional services approved and performed pursuant to this Agreement shall be designated as “Additional Services” and shall identify the number of the authorized change order, where applicable, on all invoices.
